I remember having a bizarre dream where I was exploring a deep cave in Minecraft, and I found a passage leading down to a door, in turn leading to a room somewhere below lava level. I went inside the room only to find a bunch of scared-out-of-their-minds Messians and a Gaian who I can only describe as the Butcher. The Gaian started murdering the Messians one by one, and I suddenly realized that I was next on his list of people to kill. Somehow I managed to exit the room, and I looked behind me and saw a pig standing (yes, standing) behind the now locked door begging for me to save him, since he would die next because I left. I decided to leave him behind, knowing it was suicide to try and help him, and I ran up a typical cave 'staircase' which is where I woke up, freaked out. Other dreams involved the Worldstone Chamber, which was in fact a giant orange ball of snot flying over a forest that I had to escape from (and died several times trying) populated by what I think were either Shadows or Heartless, and one in which I had to run from a werewolf and a pissed off Russian goat after being unable to find enough slices of bread to stop a message table from constantly flying up against the ceiling. Make of that what you will because I can't

I don't get to write down my dreams often, I normally forget too much for it to be worth sharing, so here are some ones that I have: (also, I wrote these for myself, so if any references need clarification let me know) 19th November 2010
at home: chris had apparently eaten a bunch of chocolate gold coins before. they looked like early, hand-crafted one and two dollar coins, as my mother (or grandmother?) told me. apparently they would make him sick because earlier they were in contact with (imagine my bedroom but with my mother's bed in it again) torches with solid flame looking things in the corners of the bed. the bed was made up and the blankets taken off, and a torch fell onto the golden coins and transferred the sickness to them. so I waited around a while at the dining room table and eventually he wretched on the kitchen floor, but a very very tiny amount of vomit only. after that he played...stepmania for some reason? no, ffr, or something like it, and the song was something like across rooftops or some other fgo. he kept missing notes but it wasn't getting displayed that it was for some reason. my mother commented about how good he was at it but I commented that there'd no way he was that good, it was dropping lots of notes. nicky tried too but I forget how well that went. transformice: coins instead of cheese?? -finally, a level which had a timelimit of many many minutes (15-75) and had no dangers, only coins that spewed out from above. thought to myself 'hats better be more expensive to compensate for this' but they costed cheese before not coins, right??? rofl. and apparently they were, with blue and gold buttons with thousands written on them. anyway apparently there were also super items and I was tempted to use them to screw around. instead I got bored and looked for other servers (each server had a description and portraits of humans like Obama/Biden below them to repesent their leaders or something), and apprantly some of them are RP servers -transformice rp: was pixelated and different graphics for some reason. I arrived on a fully constructed scene and never made it past the left side - it was made of wood with houses and no one seemed to be around. I was walljumping up the top and along a passage on the ceiling and down the other side when I heard someone pose from the leftmost house, and made my way back. there was a female mouse instead and we rped through text. I didn't have a character initially and didn't know anything about the backstory of mouse land at all, and took on the persona of a mouse who was always stuck in his books studying. for instance after the female mouse said that she was the daughter? of the king, he thought back and remembered reading a bit about it in a book once and some basic qualities about the king, and urged her to add more out in the lawn: still thinking about transformice: lead sandwich (which had a blue thing in the middle of the triangular cut), cheeseandwich (cheese on left side, sandwich on right), sandwich was like cheese but didn't give cheese, other elements in the transformice editor found a pixel editor where I tried to edit my head to look like a kangaroo head or something like that took the lawnmower out and mowed past a bunch of signs for certain hardcore? songs to pick them up - not sure what the songs were for, mom wanted me to pick them up for some reason assignment presentation time: I forget why but I went into our house's laundry/shower room to study. it was tinted yellow and on a ladder a builder or something was standing near the roof. on the day I had only done the research work and not written up a presentation to read off of in front of the class (and we were all outdoors in a place like my backyard, with them waiting near the trampoline and me looking at the notes on the stretch near the pool - but before that on the first day of presentations, we were in a different grassy area near a building, sitting around on a stone/log area) so the tutor had typed one up and given it to me. I was worried that it wouldn't meld well because it wasn't mine and I didn't have enough time to figure it out but I was urged to start and did, and I improvized around it and mixed in my own knowledge and it went quite well in the end. basically an allegory for mobile networking presentation lol I forget what the subject was, though. something about personal health and something that could spurt out of you insect game: -cartoonishly drawn spiders and wasps and insects and a tile based platformer like landscape, arrived at in a group of people black and white and cartoonily drawn with moving boundaries from frame to frame, have to go right to accomplish...something, spider bobbing up and down hiding a guy up in an alcove who would make them nicer - getting stuck to the side of a sticky |_| block makes you immune to (wasps?), then jump over the next set, then there's a tunnel with a low ceiling and a bulge in the ground and the juggernaut is approaching, a spider that always bobs down low enough to cover the entire column. apparently he's a source of information and services (think black market informant or something) but we had to go back and talk to something to fix that. then a 'wasp' (actually a spider on a string) comes down and eats my friend. I over the top go WELL THANKS A LOT FOR THAT WASP! in a voice wailing and about to scream and pummel it as hard as I can over and over, and it gets wrapped up in something (its own tongue? its own body?) and I finally calm down and slow, and then break down into welling tears

-There existing a beta version of tyrian that was only the first (two?) levels but a lot harder - the level 1 boss shot rapidly as it moved all around, more enemies? it seemed to be higher resolution (and thus levels that were larger across , yet composed of the same tiles, so everything was smaller and repeated a lot more) and have a longer ship select list too, which seems to defeat the point of it being a beta if it's better. -Me and my little brother were sitting in the house late at night, with no lights on except the big tv out there and the smaller one out in the back which I was sitting at. we had these gold cards which we got for beating the last level of Super Mario World (or something similar to it); we had to hold it up to the TV to read it and squint because the engraved writing on it was really small and was the the kind of font type you see on userbars, the one that uses 5x5 pixel squares for each character. anyway it didn't actually reflect the light the tv was giving off, it was just a bright solid gold colour all through, and it had a few engravings of a yoshi and an angry sun on the card besides the text, which was something like 'For beating Super Mario World you unlock one last world, a place where you can get endless one ups and fulfill your dreams...' playing it on the TV it was quite low quality in graphics, everything was single colour blobs, there were these worm things made up of yellow circles that as they snaked around slowly followed the path they left behind, and if they stopped their tail kept moving forward and bunched up behind them, pushing them forward a bit still and moving their trail behind them. I commented that the programming for them was far more complicated then anything else I had seen, and strangely it was even in a beta of this particular game. IIRC you weren't one of the snakes though, you were a little yellow circle that moved around and collected powerups? there were other enemy circles of a slightly oranger hue? there was a powerup to shoot twin white shots ahead of you that moved at a high speed, but upon my little brother losing it I saw a token with a mushroom on it fly away into the game screen and he exclaimed something "Drats!" or whatever -Game in the high school corridor (floor 2 through the english classrooms); this one I don't recall as well, but it seemed to be about laying eggs?!? and using them for points and various things. it was far into the game and everyone had levelled up all the things they had done a lot, so for instance laying eggs didn't show any pain or stress or lock you into place, it just happened instantly and you picked it up. the only thing I recall doing was looking towards someone else who had a 41 point faded blue egg and a larger 101 point egg in his lap, and I stole the 41 point egg and went away with it before he noticed and commented that it was gone. -Went back to Gaia Online, poked around in various things; saw a beauty contest top 100, and amongst the avatars (set up four high and 27-26-24-23ish wide, like one of those things they put you on in high school to take group photos) I found all four of my own, yet one ( http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/Mechadragon/inventory-3.png ) was oriented backwards and another (an earlier version of the same one I think) was kneeling over. one would presume that all of http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/Mechadragon/inventory-6.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/Mechadragon/inventory-5.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/Mechadragon/inventory-4.png would be in there but unsurprisingly I didn't seem to remember the intricate detail, and most of the ones I were imagining seemed to be the early, robe wearing, fox helmet iterations I came up with. regardless they were all in this top 100, and I fiddled around with the avatar configurations and figured out that there were more settings then before, you could make them bend forward on the upper body as one of them was, or have an :awesome: face. I also experimentally turned my avatar around and all the ones on the beauty contest top 100 turned around, and the one that was turned around face forward. I set it back and poked around more, seeing that there was a way to fiddle with...wheels for your avatar, however that worked, presumably like any other wearable item, giving lots of settings for rotation and transformation and even importing the image with lots of different tabs and lots of complicated drop down menus and sliders for each one, at seeing you could import the image I thought 'well doesn't it ruin the point of gaia online if you can just import in whatever you like and look like anything?' and moved on... -Went into a desert with plateaus and rocky cliffs, looked to my left and saw an abandoned, ruined building spread out across a sandy plateau and went in, going underground beneath it into a place with brownish hallways -At the bottom of a shaft: Biomechanical war dog, design seemed to be inspired by the shape of http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/Mechadragon/dogmech13.jpg only higher tech, lots of spiky sections going backwards, looked like a hulking wolf in that kind of very tall/wide shape built into sleek yet spiky red armour plating that mostly went backward and thus exposed the organic components to the front, e.g. there was a red helmet that went over the muzzle and showed off the lower parts of the face and jaws. growling and looking menacing, had VII painted in stick figure letters on one of its shoulders. Supposedly never created and hasn't yet fought or done anything, a girl comments "It's bad enough that it's named after <some>!" (<some> was something like desert eagle or something, but it WASN'T FFVII) -said wardog was raised on a circular platform to the top of a cylinder, where it was going to be released on the world and fight. it howled and ran along a very long hallway, meaning it'd be a while before it actually got anywhere. in that time I saw another biomechanical being in the same style only it was anthro, a male being that was a grey feline only built like say a tiger, thick and powerful yet still agile, he too had the same style of armour; red and spiky in lots of segments going backwards, exposing all of his broad face and parts of his front (backs of the arms maybe?). he smirked with eyes glowing and said something like "He's not getting out of here without a fight first", not verbatim but regardless he was challenging the new, presumably more powerful biomech to a fight so perhaps his honour was at stake or the likes. he goes up the disc too, we don't see it but the growling and shaking from above is an implied fight, one of the guys at the bottom calls everyone else over, inspired by that scene in the Matrix where he goes 'Hey, Morpheus is fighting Neo!" -Wardog explored the caves above the deep underground facility, was a fairly rich brown in colour, lit and smooth, had lots of less used looking tunnels (sometimes with debris) heading off into other directions. reading the warwolf's inscriptions further we saw that it had more then just VII painted in black on its shoulder but whole lists of different roman numerals, going horizontal in long lengths and vertical in individual tokens depending on where I looked. supposed to indicate some kind of code or message that could be read off of the warwolf's body, but if it's just numbers how? must have required some kind of decoding but I didn't think of it then. as we explored we saw a boy, looking like a japanese highschool boy, very charming and sophisticated and all that, and the girl I was with commented that "Ah, he knows robotics! He can be the next dark lord." and we never said anything else to him. -We split off and explored (went back?) on our own, later on another guy ran up and joined us from behind, I forget what he was supposed to be. at one point high up on a ledge was an elevator that went up into another area and it got me thinking; later on I asked him about it and he told me about the Stealthship, with stealth action transport to each area, where you could win the I-Spy ship that was stealthed at all times. was for a node-based board game or similar, stealthship was divided into lots of areas, each one invisible to the others? something like that. looked spherical in shape? -anyway, down below there was a car park in the cave, every time we came up to it (we did it twice) a car with headlights came around, went tightly behind one parked car in front of us to the left then in front of it again, meaning we'd have to weave around it. then there'd be another as we went around the hairpin turn to the left. -transistions into a university? setting where I get off of one train and as we travel across a wide expanse without actually going into any buildings someone else asks me if I use the other train to get home; as we approach the train station on the far side a train comes through it with I think deep blue carriages, I look at it and see a destination written on each carriage (in either yellow or white, with the destination in big bold letters then some kind of subheading in smaller letters below it left justified), but none are where I go home or close to it so I say that I couldn't use this train. as I walk up to a bridge and look down on top of it, looking off as the tracks vanish into the distance in the brownish chasm between the platform and the ground on the other side of it, the platform being very sleek looking and made of marble but almost featureless, except for what looked like a bus stop a bit further away with information on it. there was possibly a second set of tracks too a bit further off which would have also had a train in it
I've also dreamed about made-up BYOND games (BYOND is a platform for tile-based multiplayer games, look it up) (said tile based game was in a supersized mansion, it was a co-operative dungeon crawler/rpg type thing with your icon getting coloured to indicate status effects) and lots of roguelikes based off of Castle of the Winds, IVAN and angband/ToME, among many other things. I also just realized that the cartoonish black and white look mentioned in that dream was probably based off of the Fancy Pants Adventure flash games, which would also explain the spiders.

This morning, when I was trying to wake up, I had an oddly creative dream. I'm not sure how my subconscious made this up, but I was thoroughly amused by it. So, I got my hands on a box of Girl Scout cookies. On the back of said box, though, was a "Fun Fact" that read like some kind of commentary news blog mixed with the typically trivia stuff you find in kids' periodicals. It concerned some famous statue of Buddha held in some sort of museum. Here's what it said, to the best of my memory: "No one knows for certain what this statue of Buddha is made of, whether it be of solid gold or simply wood covered in gold leaf. One thing is certain, though, and that is that eyewitness accounts of the statue miraculously crying have been dismissed when a leaky water sprinkler directly above it was fixed earlier this last week." And then it displayed a few photographs of a standing, laughing Buddha with his right hand stretched out palm up, some focusing on how there was a fire suppression sprinkler positioned in the ceiling immediately above him. In other words, my subconscious mind somehow came up with the idea of people thinking a statue of a holy figure was crying because a fire sprinkler had a leak. There's no way I'd have thought that up while wide awake.

I had a weird dream in which I was showing off a trick, in what appeared to be a fancy restaurant, where I could poke a straw through my index finger. How I did that and what made me believe that was a good idea I don't know, but no one was impressed. Apparently after that it was time to leave, only outside on the parking lot I realised I forgot my bag, which was in the back of the indoor zoo, so I had to go through that to get it. Don't ask me why a restaurant has an indoor zoo or why I'd leave something at the very end of it, I don't know. In the indoor zoo I remember running down a small hill, jumping up in the air higher than humanly possible, and using a tree to make a turn in mid air. Gravity was taking a day off since my descend was so slow I made a backflip in mid air, just because. Apparently this impressed several people, including a few that took a wrong turn just ahead of the path I turned into by means of using that tree. Apparently that was the correct path, as the other one only lead to a dead end covered in windows. After some more running I heard a faint "AAAAAAAAAAA" sound, like someone got hurt, and I turn around to find someone broke a leg. From what I remember that person had a cut from her(?) knee to her foot on her leg, although HOW she got injured like that I'm not sure. At that point the dog starts making noise and I woke up, although I still heard the "AAAAAAAAAAA" noise. Turns out that was my breathing. How my nostrils were able to perfectly replicate the sound of a distant person in agony I don't know, but they were, and it convinced me, in my dreams, that someone broke a leg. What the hell?

Last night I dreampt of wheelchairs not only made entirely of wood, but were also completely motorized and were operated exactly like a stick shift car, three pedal setup and shift stick and everything. At one point I decided to mess around with one by seeing how fast the wheels would spin by lifting it off the ground and letting it idle in overdrive.

So, last night in dreamland, between where I work and where I live were two Chase banks and some other place, possibly a florist. One of these Chase banks and the maybe-florist had a box outside where they kept some ferrets for sale. The other Chase bank has nothing else to do with this dream. So, lets ignore the inhumane treatment caused by the insanely small size and lack of ventilation in these boxes. One evening, after working a closing shift, I stop by the bank to look at the ferrets, given that the box they are kept in is outside. While watching and enjoying their antics, one manages to get out, and I notice that another one had made a nest directly underneath the box. Realizing they'd be in danger if I let them go, I put them in my backpack to try and do something with them. For whatever reason, I could not open up the box to put them back in. I did not own them, so it wouldn't be right to keep them. And keeping them at my place overnight wouldn't work since my place is rather ferret hostile. So after talking about it with some other people, I decided what to do. I knew I could open the box at the maybe-florist, so I would put them in that box, and leave a note saying, hey, there's two extra ferrets in your cage that actually belong to the Chase bank down the street, so you might want to get that sorted out with them. And then I'd leave a similar note about the escapees being at the maybe-florist at the bank. I never got to finish the dream.

A few nights ago I had a really bizarre dream. I was in my 1000 business class at Trent, and for some reason our prof announced that Lloyd Robertson was going to be our guest speaker. He was going on about the business side of TV journalism when all of a sudden he pulled out a magnum and started shooting. It was pretty clear he wasn't trying to kill any of us, because he was firing deliberately at the ceiling. The students naturally panicked and stormed for the exits, but there was a whole gang of bouncers right outside the door keeping us in. I still have no fucking clue who they were supposed to be working for. Anyway, Lloyd eventually joked away his shooting spree as an addiction to the sound of a magnum ever since he'd lost his arms license due to the recent abolition of the long-gun registry bill (yes I know an S&W 500 magnum isn't a long-gun, but are you really expecting any sort of logic by this point?) He then continued his lecture as normal, and aside from looking a bit shifty the prof didn't do a single thing to disarm Lloyd or do anything to protect the students. Turns out Lloyd had one round left in his magnum and used it to shoot out the projector hanging overhead, and it fell (though I don't remember if any students actually died at that point). Not even an army of bouncers could stop the stampeding students now. No one was trying to call their parents or anything, just running for the exits and away from the veteran news anchor as fast as they could. We ran away from campus past the bridge that connects the two "banks", or halves, of each campus, when the Ontario Provincial Police were called in and shepherded us back to class. I don't remember what happened next because I woke up to use the bathroom. Long story short: yeah. I think I forgot to turn off my laptop overnight, maybe that was fucking with my head or something.

There was this one dream where it was so insane, that I went to get checked after. No joke. So it starts out with Mario, Kirby, Link, and a kid that looks like Ness (but isnt). They are inside a spaceship that looks like one of those candy Peeps. The kid then jumps into the peep and flies off the distance, leaving Mario, Link & Kirby standing there. After a short flight, the ship lands. Only thing though is that the kid is gone. Instead, a completely different kid jumps out of the ship with blonde hair. HE meets up with this park ranger who agrees to lead him around. They were in search for a sea bear that was spotted in the lake a few miles down. So they set off and heas into this hill. The hill had a stream running down the side. As they climb the hill, red meteors start falling from the sky. They quickly run up to find an underground shopping mall at the top. In the middle was a dinosaur claw that was waving back & foward like a car motor trying to start. The kid & the tour guide decide to go down the 15 degree escalator and head over to the bathroom. As the kid was washing his hands, the tour guide quickly snatches him and ties him on a toilet seat. It turns out, the tour guide was really working for the mafia and only used the kid as a cover for his evil scheme. He then leaves the bathroom, leaving the kid stranded there hopeless. It then cuts to me, my sister, and my mom running up the escalators while doing the running man like in the Yellow Submarine. As we are running, we go past a wedding with Leslie Neilson as the priest. Then they break out into an all out war with guns and flamethrowers.

My three most disturbing dreams: 1) Spread cheese hell Basically I dreamt of a piece of bread, with some spread cheese on it, and for the whole night a knife would keep spreading the cheese. And all of that at a very disgustingly high zoom factor. It simply went on forever... When I woke up, I felt very disturbed and deeply embarrassed. 2) Iron Maiden Pretty straight forward. In that dream I simply opened my wardrobe and entered my iron maiden, which had an unusually high number of salted spikes in it, and closed it. For a while it felt quite exciting, but then I woke up with this burning, salty pain all over my whole body. Took a while till it went away. 3) Purple Space Spiders I went into space and when I came back, suddenly every human being had purple dog-sized spiders as pets on dog leashes. Clearly, the spiders had somehow manipulated people to accept them as pets, to mind control them and eat them and their children. Before I could do anything at all, one of those beasts attacked me by jumping at me and squeezing me with its many legs. Then I felt some very warm and numbing poison spreading through my body. Then I woke up. Felt very realistic.

I just dreamt that one of you guys in Tasvideos had put on top of my library the switch of the emergency generator of the USS Titanic, and that I had to keep it because it was such an important piece of history. In my dream, I had never noticed it in all these years and I found it during house-cleaning.

Last night saw me dreaming about a conglomeration of Homestuck, Minecraft, and Friendship is Magic. As in, there was a copy of Sburb software that existed in the real world that combined elements from all three.

I once had a dream where I was in Link's place in Ocarina of Time, and Sheik was teaching me the Minuet of the Forest in Death Mountain Crater (don't ask why). Anyway, instead of throwing a deku nut and exiting, Sheik decides it would be easier to kill me and save Hyrule herself. So she does the needle storm move from smash bros. and the death sequence plays with me, again, in link's place.

Last night I ended up reading the latter half of this Let's Play Chrono Cross. Guess what flavor nearly all my dreams had last night? Eyup, last night was dominated by visions that were clearly insprired by Chrono Cross? Troubling thing, though? The dreams I had made sense. And it was long and truly epic. Unfortunately, I can't remember too much about it, but it was a good dream.

I had a dream last night that I was browsing the internet. I glance at an ad for "stopbean.com", which consists of nothing but a text box and a confirmation button. I move on to another website. Suddenly, Rowan Atkinson comes up behind me and starts harrassing me-- poking me, slapping me, flicking me. I push him away and quickly change back to the tab with the advertisement. I then see that it's subtitled, "Your #1 site for getting Mr. Bean to stop attacking you." I try to enter something into the text box, which is really hard since I'm turned halfway away from my computer, kicking Mr. Bean away with one foot. Finally, I manage to type "stopbean=true" and click the button. I turn around and he's standing there, smiling politely at me.

At one point last night, someone in dreamland was playing Elvis's Can't Help Falling in Love on a piano. I woke up and had that song stuck in my head. I also had a small case of sleep paralysis. Every time I tried to get up, I'd find myself back in bed a few seconds later. Strange thing was, though, that I heard someone mention, "Before you get up, make sure you are conscious." Self referential dreams like that really spook me.

I know! I want to make it a commercial or something, but I have no idea for what (stopbean.com, I guess...). The funny thing is, I'm not a Mr. Bean fan and I've watched almost nothing of the show. I saw the movie, what, fifteen years ago? That's about all.

I've been having a lot of dreams lately. My "good dreams" are presented in the same way a film is. The genre is either adventure, action, horror, fantasy, mystery, or science fiction. Regardless of type, they're all ridiculously violent, brutal, and vicious. The horror ones are easily more terrifying than any movie I've ever seen. They make "Hostel" or even "Imprint" seem like children's cartoons by comparison. There's also an absurd amount of sex. I generally enjoy those ones. The "bad dreams" don't have any violence or sex in them, but they're the ones that actually frighten or depress me. They deal with certain people and events in my life. I try to banish most of them from my mind. Recently though, I've had less violent and sexual dreams, by my standards. So much so that I can probably share them! Last night, I dreamed that there was a weird porn shoot recruiting for some male talent. The female was a brain-dead blonde starlet. Some good-looking douchebag showed up. I disliked this guy for some reason; he tried to be a smarmy, cheerful guy, but I could see through his facade. Once the shooting wraps up, a Boston Irishman, with close-cropped, reddish blonde hair shows up. He is clearly going for the "white gangster" look, complete with huge overcoat, plain white T-shirt, and a gold chain around his neck. I notice in my dream that I actually wear the same clothes a lot, too. But not for those reasons. Anyways, this guy starts making fun of the male porn star, hurling all sorts of insults at him. At this point, my own character shows up. I like this Irishman; I laugh at his jokes, and egg him on. He is having none of it, though; he turns to me and starts making fun of my name. I start insulting him too, and since we're apparently both ninjas, we decide to have a duel to settle this. The male porn star and the braindead blonde follow us. This isn't a duel to the death, though; just to settle who is right. Once the fight starts, it becomes very clear that I am faster and physically stronger than my opponent. However, he does a good job of running away, and despite being a weaker ninja overall, has one very scary ability I don't. Namely, he can summon gigantic stuffed animals that appear out of thin air and start pursuing me. The more I run away, the more he summons. There are teddy bears, grotesque giraffes, and lions with shaggy manes. The one trait they all have in common are their sick, sadistic smiles. They want to see their victim suffer. They're a combination of the stuffed animals in Akira and the circus procession in the "Pierrot le Fou" episode of Cowboy Bebop. I haven't watched anime in years, and those particular works in a decade. Once these stuffed animal abominations get their hands on you, they're way more powerful than any human. They're essentially killer golems, except creepier. I try my best to avoid them, but they manage to manhandle me and almost rip me apart. Eventually though, the Irishman's magic runs out. At that point, I smile, because I know I've made it. I pursue and catch up to the fleeing rascal. After beating him for a while, he makes a plea for his life; "didn't you want to be friends?!" "That was before you tried to kill me with those monstrosities." "Ah, but if you let me live, I can teach you the magic that allowed me to summon them." The Irishman is clever. As I ponder his proposition, I wake up.

Cross posting from another forum. I think I just had my first real nightmare. There was some odd tradition/superstition related to New Years, so the time was a little over a month ago. The thing was, if you left a nametag on an empty, unmade bed near on open window so it could be seen from the outside, the bed would mysteriously be made up the next time someone checked it in the new year. So I decided to throw a nametag onto a bed with the curtains open and retired to my own. The next bit involves some sleep paralysis. Apparently, other strange things would happen. Because of what I did, soon after I fell asleep, it felt like something hit my neck; opening my eyes, I was a bit freaked out to see it was some grotesque, disembodied monster arm, draped across my throat. However, I was too tired to deal with it, so I just tossed it aside and would deal with it later. After hearing some voices talking about the danger I was in, I opened my eyes. And saw said arm somehow propping itself up, its hand open and aiming right for my throat, getting ready to strangle me. I was seriously freaked out and started screaming. I'll have to ask my parents if they heard me. In reality, it was just a shelf I have hanging over my bed; the dark light and my state of consciousness made it look different. But still, I'd never been so scare while I was sleeping.
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.

Freud would have had a field day with that.

I don't think Freud is necessary for a field day to be had.
