Crash Bandicoot N-Tranced GBA version is one that is similar to Crash 3 for PSX. In this game, Crash is faster than its predecessor, the Huge Adventure.

Game objectives

  • Emulator used: VBA 21
  • Takes damage to save time
  • Aims for fastest time
  • Genre: Platform

Comments

In the first world, the dash continuous can be a bit boring. But since the second world, Crash takes the long dash. This enables a fast and enjoyable game.

Mukki: Replaced the submission file at the author's request to rectify a final input issue.
GabCM: Added Dailymotion module.
Mukki: Judging...
Mukki I apologise that this took so long to judge but I took some extra time to investigate the optimisation concerns and have decided that they are not large enough to warrant a rejection. On the whole the quality is decent. Entertainment-wise several users greatly enjoyed this. I found it to be close to borderline as the first world was dull as were the surfing and space based levels. However, I did enjoy the later Egyptian levels and I also particularly enjoyed the boss fight against Fake Crash. Audience response tips this one. Accepting for publication.

I love this game, what you did to it was amazing, specially the oil boosts, those where awesome. Also nice to see that you went for the good any% ending instead of the bad (collecting no gem fragments). The way you where mocking N-Troopy at the end was pure genius. Yes vote. (Also syncs in VBA v22)

I enjoyed watching this run, and it was well optimized (but the Atlasphere levels seem quite hard to optimize, so I couldn't tell if you took the best route). The downsides of this run are the auto-scrolling levels, which were a bit boring.
    * When you were on the magic carpet or on the water skis, I think you could have tried to get all the apples in order to be consistent. * In the space levels (when you control Coco), I'm sure you tried to complete these levels as fast as possible. But - and it can be debatable - as it was a bit monotonous, you can have made an entertainment trade-off by destroying every boxes, taking every apple, and killing every enemies (and that is hard to do). Besides, I don't know if this would have really slowed you down.
On a side note, the run synched on Crash Bandicoot 2 - N-Tranced (U).gba. I don't where you got this strange rom name (Crash Bandicoot 2 N-Tranced (U)(Noitami)) Anyway, yes vote & good work.

Mister Epic will encode this in HD (probably point-based and not HQx) and SD.

Okay, first of all, you need to end this movie at the last possible moment of control. That means skipping the final cutscene, skipping the credits, and choosing not to save afterwards. You should update the movie file. As for the actual run: it was better than I expected. I've tried and failed to TAS this game before so it's great to see someone actually TAS this game. The problem is: lag. Lots of it. And it's not your fault, there's no real way to manage it. That and the few surfing levels that are there incredibly tedious, but I doubt even nitsuja could make those fun. Additionally there's a boost button (A I believe) on the Atlasphere which you did not use during Crunch's levels. It's a borderline yes and meh vote, but I'm going with meh. I'm blaming the game though.

I don't think it's necessary. I saw and encoded published movies that didn't skip the final stuff. EDIT: Oh I see... Yeah. I will encode this once the movie is updated then.

Can I post the video again without changing the submission? I tried but there seems no option to upload again.

You can cancel your current submission. But, before you do that, you can also ask a staff member (other than an editor, a vested editor and a simple publisher) to replace the file for you.

Hi wwmarx, I just have a couple questions: * In the first stage of World 2, you travel on a couple slow-moving platforms in a tunnel near the bottom before getting a blue crystal. You then ride the platforms all the way back. Is it possible to die instead of doing the ride back, where you respawn to the left with the crystal? * In Eruption Disruption of World 4, there seems to be another area where you have to ride backwards a long way after getting a crystal. Does death make that faster? Other than that, this is fairly good. I think it's sort of funny how, like with the Prince Of Persia Sands Of Time game, this is a GBA game which is modeled after a well-known 3D game, but then the GBA game tends to feel totally different since it's not 3D most of the time. Anyway, Yes vote. P.S. To update your movie, you should just ask one of the higher-ranked staff members to replace the file. That's the best thing to do when the change is small.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. I tried to do this. But unfortunately I just come back to the checkpoint without the crystal.

This is not 100% true, just end the movie at the last momment so the game scrolls the credits, so, skip the last cutscene, so the credits will run on their own. As for the movie, first world was boring, second world was a bit fun but then lag screwed you up, in my opinion this is a bad game choose, though, your TASing skills not are good, so you can try TASing another game. Meh Vote. EDIT: Woops sorry, i meant to say that your skills are pretty good. My bad.

Rolanmen1: wait, don't you mean his TASing skills ARE good? That would make more sense the way you phrased the sentence.

I'm sorry, but I've already claimed this one. The encode is even done, but I need to upload it. You can still upload yours to YouTube, since I'm planning to upload my SD encode to Dailymotion and Archive, and I won't upload the HD encode, since it's way too big.

Response to this seems borderline so I'm going to give a few more days before making a decision. I'm attributing thin feedback to there being no encode. Now that we have an encode (thanks Mister Epic!) perhaps a few more of you will get the chance to watch and comment. Thanks.

Maybe the water-skiing stages could be more entertaining... Couldn't they have been played the exact same way by some bored speedrunner ? (Yeah, I know : these goddamm' TAS-viewers always want more and more ^^ And maybe there's a reason I don't understand for this ?) For the whole rest of the video, it's a great YES. Good game choice, great TASing skills, entertainment, fun... I reaaaaaally enjoyed it :)

Congratulations on the publication wwmarx. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of this run, I think you have a lot of potential for entertaining us even more in the future, and I wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide to do next.
