WIP1 timing
Fake Mute desync workaround
Sync samples with sound CPU
- no warps or passwords used
- no programming errors or glitches used
- aiming for fastest possible time
The lap times are:
1. 27"13 (because of starting from 0 km/h and double bump on opponent)
2. 24"89 (A new strategie is used to get lap times under 24"90)
3. 24"88 (one reason for it is that i got far into the lap, that's why 2nd lap is 24"89 and this one is 24"88)
4. 24"89
5. 24"88 (same effect like in lap 2 and 3)
World Record Times of Big Blue:
Total: 2'06"96 (0"29 sec slower than this time)
Starting Lap: 27"20 (0"00 secs slower)
Fastest 1-Boost Lap: 24"90 (0"01 secs slower)
This is a run on the track called Big Blue which is 0"29 seconds faster then the previous World Record run, what is actually really a lot in this game.
The World Record on this track is 2'06"96.So there is a difference of 0"29 to this Tool-Assisted-Speedrun.Some of you might think it's not much, but in this Game 0"29 secs are a lot.
In order to make the TAS fast i used a new technique on boosts.
A boost gives you more speed (from 562 km/h down to 486km/h for a while)
with this technique i short the time of the boost where it has the speed of 530km/h to 486 km/h.Following to that i can use the part of a boost from 562 km/h to 430km/h more often during on boost.
That technique can save 0"06 during one boost.

Hi there FunStyle, I see you are indeed going to try more tracks of this game, that's great.
Just some pointers. When you submit something here, is a good idea to include the comparison with the WR, so that people that are not familiar with the game can know detailed how good is a run like this one.
Also, if you use tricks (like the one you mentioned on MFO), is a good idea to include it on the description (for the same reason as above)
At last, it seems that you didn't end the movie with an input on the last frame, so maybe you should edit the file to change it.
As for the run, I obviously liked it :P

Please add some more technical information about the TAS itself in the submission text.
For the TAS itself it was quite entertaining and very quick, yes vote.
On the last turn (coming off the ice), you hit the barrier on the first three laps, and not on the last two. Why the difference? Hitting the barrier seems to keep your speed under 478 for longer.
<Swordless> Go hug a tree, you vegetarian (I bet you really are one)
There is one reson why the barrier is hit sometimes. You have a shorter driving way,but you lose some more speed compared with only relasing gas for a short time. That is done to turn better with the vehicle, because on 478km/h turning is much harder.
So in the last corner the time is the same, with or even without hitting the barrier.
I noticed several times on the straightaways where you made many small corrections to your direction. Why couldn't you have been on the proper path as soon as you entered the straightaway?
Anyway, I'm not terribly enthusiastic about single-track TASes, or about the original F-Zero either. Withholding vote for now.

Thanks for the awesome run! F-zero played well is always awesome to watch.
That said, I vote no for publication. I hope you or someone makes a TAS of the full game. Single track movies just seem silly; it's like a TAS of 1-1 in Super Mario Bros.
I know a full run would be long and repetitive though which is why I think Mute City was published by itself (don't quote me on that cause I can't be assed to research it :P)
Anyway, thanks again for the great movie. I hope we will see a full run on the workbench eventually.
The problem with a full game run fo this one seems to be that not all tracks are available in practice mode (read: time trial) which means that you'd need to TAS the GPs which involves dealing with CPUs. This never stopped the Mario Kart TASes though, so I don't see why it should stop anyone from doing this game.
This also means that despite my love for the game and the quality of the TAS, I vote no. I'm against single-track publications.
What the fuck ?
That's a racing game guys.I won't be rude but on a racing game you usual make a TAS of only on course.
Like someone said,it's not possible to play the whole game or all courses in one TAS since there are some practice tracks and some GP tracks.
That sucks guys. The MC1 run also was submitted here, and there is no difference to my TAS.
I don't understand why you don't hgive a chance to newbie TASer,even if i also made a lot of TAS yet.
Frankly,if you don't know the game and just say i could make a TAS of all Tracks,i don't know how i could submit here, for such players like u.A TAS of the complete run with best times in each track, would have more then 100k rerecords.
Weak thing of you guys,really.
tell me:
what's the different between recording more in this vid, that i have more track in one TAS and doing one TAS for each course??
There is a way,i may just start the next Practice Track and go on with the TAS,but i've never seen racing game TAS' including all tracks ^^
We only had two "one course" TASes on the site, and they were both massively unpopular and would not be published if they were submitted today. The audience wants runs that play the entire game. It's rather rare for "incomplete" runs to be accepted here.
This would have been a good thing to mention in the run description. You couldn't have known this would be a problem, though. Just something to keep in mind. You can edit the submission to mention this, by the way.
No, but there is a difference in the community. It's been over five years since that submission, and standards are different now.
It has nothing to do with you, and everything to do with your run. Actually your run showed a good amount of skill, especially for someone who is new to the art. But not all technically-proficient runs are published, even from our best TASers.
I think that's a sign that this might be a bad game to TAS if you want it published here, at the very least as a first project.

Wait, what? It's entirely possible to do the entire game in one TAS. Practice mode has seven tracks: Mute City I, Big Blue, Death Wind I, Sand Ocean, Silence, White Land I, Port Town II. All seven of them appear in Grand Prix mode.
Before you accuse others of not knowing the game you just submitted a video for, make sure you know the game yourself.

I would strongly prefer you continue research for every single track in the game. Race in all three leagues using the same TAS skills you applied to this one track, and post your fastest times. If you even find a glitch on any racetrack, feel free to showcase it.
Or, you can try your luck in "BS F-Zero II Grand Prix" since there is only 5 tracks and one league there. I haven't seen any other tracks unlocked in that game anyhow.

Do I look like someone who really cares what God thinks?!
"GI Joe: The Atlantis Factor" - May be improved in the future.
So you all think i have more chances here if i make a TAS of all 15 Tracks at once...
Mhm in this case i can't do that, that would need too long for me,actually.
I just want to show how far the game can go on each track, not how fast it can be played through.
It was a attempt to try here, but if it's the situation you said,i just will make the track TAS i want and post them on YT.
I am sorry but I have to agree with FunStyle here.
This is a good TAS and I'd love to see it published.
It is sad to see yet another example of how tasvideos can build a wall in front of a talented newcomer.
FunStyle you are good, I am glad that you have a Youtube channel, I can't wait to see more of what you can do!
Yes vote.
If this gets published, does this mean that everyone else can post a run that completes only 1 stage/lap/level/track/etc? Seriously, if that happens, it would save me quite a lot of time =p.
You did a good job FunStyle. I am glad to see that someone is working on F-Zero. I voted no because I would rather have a full run.
But don't be discouraged by that, or that a full run will take a long time. Many TAses take a really long time; I have been working on one that will soon be 2 years, and I know of others that have or are taking a long time. Those runs usually end up well received and are well worth the effort.
That would be me. But as Makou said, all tracks can be done in GP and I never claimed otherwise. Please, do your research before saying silly things.
If you intend to make a run of each track anyway, I don't see the difference between doing them all separately or all in one .smv.
Well, there's the difference that the former would result in a single, complete movie being published, whereas the latter would clutter the SNES page with incomplete runs. And if, as you say, there is very little to no difference, what's stopping you from making a complete TAS?
How about this one then? Again, make sure you know what you are talking about before saying silly things.
I play this Game for over 10 years now so i don't have to think about what i say again.
The Practice Tracks are all from the GP mode, everybody knows, but i think nearly no one noticed that i will have a slower run in GP mode every time.
So i never could get that time on Big Blue in GP mode.
The difference is that i can't show the track runs to somebody until it's finished.
Stoping me to make a TAS of the complete game is that i think i don't have the patience, and i wouldn't have any result for a long time.On a single track TAS i have the result after finishing it.A TAS is finished for me when i got the goal of my TAS,so even if i had great times in this TAS i wouldn't have a result for myself.
And i never come to the idea of doing the whole Game in one TAS,so i would just do something you want and that's not what i wanted to do.
And i think there is a difference between "i've never seen" and there doesn't exist one. Right :P
Personally I liked this one on its own and think that a full run would be dead boring. If in the future FunStyle or anyone else does all tracks then just let a full run obsolete single tracks, but for now I think this is a fine addition to the site.
