There has been days where some of the emulator movies I viewed, suddenly turned into 404 errors and "Data error accessing video" messages. Many other users have experienced the same thing. Whatever's going on with Microstorage since the last time I used it, is beyond me. I'll start free-hosting emulator movies using FileDen until everything's straightened out. If anyone wants to use FileDen, well, a downside is that free-users get ads, capped webspace at 1GB, and capped monthly bandwidth of 5GB. However, if you're only going to use it just to free-host small emulator movies the same way you would at Microstorage, then I don't think that capped monthly bandwidth should be a big deal.
Do I look like someone who really cares what God thinks?! "GI Joe: The Atlantis Factor" - May be improved in the future.

Yeah, just the same case has happened to me. I hope this matter will be fixed.

In case anyone's interested, the firmware on the hard drive of the server crashed. Not mechanically, but the hard drive's onboard CPU froze. SIGBUS and IO errors abound. Computer over. Hard power cycle required. Don't worry, I have backups.

Thank you for your fixing, DeHackEd.

I wasn't even aware that was a possibility, though in hindsight it makes sense. Hard drives have had microcontrollers for ages, and it's always possible that there's a bug in them (possibly one only triggered by certain environmental conditions or cosmic rays, of course). I'm glad to hear that power cycling fixed the problem.

That may or may not literally be what happened, but the behaviour is close enough. The BIOS didn't even autodetect the drive after pressing the Reset button. But that button only nails the CPU. Cutting power to the hard drive got it back up and running. Not exactly reassuring, but the drive is rather old and been running for a long time.

I actually use alden's mario paint script to get some hawt pix of ladies stored there for future use. There is nothing more sensual than watching a naked lady be drawn one pixel at a time. :3~~

Can't find any official thread about http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php so going to post this here: I just upped a BK2 that
  • starts from savestate
  • is 900 frames in length
But microstorage insists that the BK2
  • starts from reset
  • is 22438 frames in length
Link (Forgot to put game name, it's Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga GBA) The file plays back as 900 frames after download. It was created in Bizhawk 1.11.7 / 1.11.8.2.

Microstorage has been down for a few days now. Will it come back? There is a movie file that I would like to retrieve right now, under URL http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/841333049/62000.bk2
