A buddy of mine recently launched a site called http://everybodyedits.com/, it is a simple platforming game, but well, everyone can edit the level! It's kinda fun.

Yeah, this is a really fun game, it would be cool if there was a talking feature of some sort though.

everyone can draw massive swastikas

It rests on the conviction that you — by your choices, effort and actions — have made yourself into the kind of person able to deal with reality. It is the conviction — based on the evidence of your own volitional functioning — that you are fundamentally able to succeed in life and, therefore, are deserving of that success." - Onkar Ghate

It's really the best part of the game. Aside from filling up entire quadrants with grey.

Gray is so boring. The cool kids uses the secret black tile. I was the first person in the world to use it. And yes, I was before the author of the game. ;)

Looks like it'd be good once there's enough platforming gimmicks available to set up puzzles and courses.

That's what I figured given the v0.6. So I'll keep an eye on it EDIT: Actually, I didn't realize the side/top arrows were actually changing gravity and let you jump off walls/the ceiling. That's cool, haha. Here, have some ideas for tiles: Cannon - Jumps off this surface have double the velocity, and perhaps a flame trail effect. Rubber block - If you impact with it your velocity on that axis is reversed. Glue block - when you hit its surface you get stuck fast to it - if the gravity is pointing the right way you can jump off, else you can move along it very slowly. Toggle blocks - Either depressed into the background or repressed into the foreground. There is also a toggle switch block - whenever anyone hits a toggle switch block, all the toggle blocks flip. Possibly comes in multiple colours. Possibly also have a toggle proximity sensor block, which toggles the blocks whenever someone's close, and untoggles when no one is. Teamwork! Conveyor belts - Vertical or horizontal with arrows indicating the directions of their two sides. When touching the appropriate side a slight velocity in that direction is added to your velocity. Water - When passing through it velocity and the effects of gravity are halved. Mist/Ice - Like zero g dots except you can't change your direction while inside of it UNLESS you have completely stopped. Think of it as zero g ice, perhaps. Any directional movement will accelerate you on your current path (in case you enter it at to low a speed) and presumably there's no friction. One way wall - Lies on one side of a block with a direction indicating it - you can pass in the direction of the arrow but not the other way. Think N's one way walls. Spikeball - Doesn't hurt you, just forces you to jump (irregardless of gravity) whenever you touch its sides. Ouch! Save point - Set it as your active save point by entering it, use a 'teleport' command to reappear on its spot.

Bump, because I added a bunch of ideas. I tried to make things that work only by contact - things that move or things that affect people at a distance would be able to slow the game down when spammed.

It seems to be the case that physics are slightly different depending on...your fps? or some other factor. On a map I was making, I had a corridor like this: __>__> where you had running space up to just before the second arrow began to run left and through the first arrow. I could do it fine, but even when someone else tried it, I saw their predicted position run through many times but they always bounced off. I'm on a laptop, so I think whatever checks influence the physics are running slower, letting me do it and not others. I have no idea if it's fixable or not, but I'll throw it out there. I've got a level currently hosted which I made with my little brother. It's pretty hard: http://everybodyedits.com/?/jm-Patashus-Place Not a permanent link, it'll go down if no one's in it.

when playing the 0.5 version on nonoba, I noticed that a few players kick me to the lobby by drawing tiles over me o_o

The public rooms are pretty much useless, one person ought to ruin things can destroy more swiftly than any number of people can build. It's good for 'I made a level can you pass it?' maps and 'Let's make a password protected level for our forum to draw/create in' maps, however.

after playing http://everybodyedits.com/?/jm-Patashus-Place (this will be gone by 8 PM GMT due to new version.. hope you can recreate it or something) managed to get to the winner's purple bowl and then idle there for a while but then it kicked me out. tried the whole level again but it kicked me for lag because im downloading a steam game.. this game probably shouldn't have a lag limit.. what do you think?

I created a map of Patashu Place from screenshots, though I doubt I'll recreate it - I'd rather learn from our mistakes. I can still upload it if anyone's interested.
