Comments

Who knew J J was a computer hacker. He had no need to open any of the capsules to find out the Door Open code for each room. Heck, he even opened the doors of room A6 with said command. (Proper way to open those doors actually, is get up on right ledge, kneel down, and shoot really fast.)
Luck was manipulated for the purpose of directing the norsa soldiers in desirable ways like firing later, and all of them standing to fire, where ever possible. Also was used to manipulate the code, to have 4 as the minimum digit. (Saves 24 frames over 1 as minimum digit. for my purposes, 0 counts as 10, since it is on the far right.) The Ideal door code for any given room, is 7-8-9-0, as it takes the fewest frames to enter.

Suggested screen shots.

Possible Improvements.

  • Manipulate luck further, get 7-8-9-0, 6-7-8-9, etc, setting 6 as minimum digit.

Other comments

Improved over previous movie by 4088 frames. Mostly from taking damage more, and by getting to level 8 sooner. (You run/crawl faster at level 7, and you only take 40 damage from electrical barriers at level 8.) Also more precise with jumps and shots, and break any capsules that will get in the way of shots later.

Much better than your last run! This looked fairly smooth. However, the game is really repetitive. From my perspective, you ran through a bunch of similar-looking rooms, occasionally shooting some guys (though a couple firefights were pretty daring), and you pick up items that look like the last boss from Fantasy Zone. I guess I'm reminded of the Cyborg Hunter run, but at least that run provides a map as you go and has more varied terrain. I guess Meh vote for the repetitiveness of the game, but the actual play looks pretty solid this time.

I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. Not certain on how exactly, formatting wise, to add in the screenshots.

That was a good movie. The music was a bit tiresome, but that was ignored due to the entertaining gameplay. Yes vote!

You got the "daring firefight" shot I was mentioning: nice!

I have yet another improved run on the way. Managed to save just over 29 seconds so far, just by not getting level 8 as soon as possible, and by changing the way I get the Level 5, Level 6, and Level 7 upgrade. Max running speed is gained at level 7. By the time I do get the level 8 upgrade, I will actually be needing it then. Also, I further live up to the "takes damage to save time". It is quicker to take a couple of autogun hits, than it is to turn the autoguns off, in the room you rescue apple from, by about 2 seconds.
