How about any of the fine April Fool's runs that were just submitted?
Should have some new scripts done by the end of the weekend, but I have homework to complete first.

It started off fairly tame, but as more balls entered the picture it sure got a lot more entertaining.

It's easy to get into the position where the buggy gets stuck on the edge. I have not been able to glitch it though.
GarlandG FAQ
Q: Just how fast is it possible to beat the game?
A: With near-perfect execution and close to maximum luck manipulation, it is
possible to beat the game in less than 7 hours and 45 minutes. Theoretically,
you can get closer to the 7:30 mark, but that would require strategies with
such low odds, it's no longer realistic. A TAS could probably get below 7:30.
There's a desync problem. Something I did at 56 minutes caused it to desync at 23 minutes.
EDIT:
Officially saved by tas movie editor v0-12-2i
current: Reno defeated
next: Shinra HQ
videos will be posted tomorrow (modified reactor 2 -> Aeris -> wall market -> aps|sewer -> top of tower|reno etc)
two questions:
1. have you tried opening the lid and experimenting? or is this not allowed?
2. are you still manipulating the player stats to make certain stats very high?
If you can manipulate your starting stats, I'm sure you can manipulate the stats gained on level up.
Also, I notice you accept one random battle before Aps, and two before Reno. Are these not avoidable?

Level up stats can be easily manipulated, but it is a complex process to make sure that they are always at their highest threshold. Instead, I just manipulate them for what I need in the upcoming boss battles.

Technically, all random battles are avoidable. It is sometimes slower to avoid them.
1. is it possible?
2. it is possible to maximise the stats if one can make sense of the complex forumla that is used (the game prevents stats from being too high). i don't plan to do this, however i do maximise the stats to an extent
ctrl + O is the hotkey for it, it works fine on the real system
a popular exploit is using regen then opening the disk lid and the regen will still be going but the enemy never does anything
I don't know about stats, you are the tas'er!

from what i have seen, in a normal battle, the enemy attacks when the lid is up
Actually it doesn't. I tested it myself, on my real PSX, casted Regen (which you won't probably get in this TAS due to high AP count needed IIRC) and enemy didn't attack. There may be a plenty of youtube videos about this but i can't find one, but I'm still pretty sure there's at least one. You can always ask GarlandG about this and a lot other FF7 things. He really has played this game alot :)
and when we can have the input file? :)

This is at least my third time asking for the movie file; I won't be watching the run from Youtube due to it does lag and quality is what it is: so I want to watch it straight from the emulator. You seem not to even answer to this request?
So go and post the .pxm somewhere and link it to us. Thanks.
