As mentioned over here, the author has put this run up on YouTube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yj6blOFJ7ro Having watched it, I'm reminded greatly of the currently published Mega Man 2 run, demonstrating a high level of expertise in the various glitch techniques (including a couple of unexpected surprises!). The major argument that could be put against this, I think, is whether it differentiates itself enough from the currently existing Rockman runs to warrant publication. I'm no expert in the games, so I would find it hard to comment on how novel the hack is compared to the other games, but I do enjoy a good glitchfest and this delivers in that respect. Since I enjoyed watching this, I will vote yes.

I found funny that blademan is into megaman 10 into a different form. Great run, I might watch it again.

I'm inclined to agree with sgrunt's analysis. The bosses appear to have different weaknesses, but they have exactly the same patterns and give the same weapons. The levels themselves are fairly clever about tweaking the use of existing MM2 enemies and changing their sprites, but there aren't any actual new enemies. Plenty of sprites imported from other Megaman games though. Voting meh; seemed decently-played but the hack could be a lot better. The gameplay seemed solid to me (speaking as a non-expert in the world of Megaman TASes), but it also seemed pretty similar to the existing MM2 run. If you're looking for a Megaman hack to TAS, Rockman no Constancy seems like it could be a good choice.

I didn't like it. The hack is just too similar to Mega Man 2. There are much more interesting hacks of MM2 out there. Though I will give this one credit for creative use of Quick Man lasers, I'm going to have to say No on this due to poor game choice.

It's actually a PC game, not a NES ROM hack. Rockman 2 Neta http://www.auntiepixelante.com/?p=364 As for this hack, though there are a lot of things similar to Rockman 2, I thought the hack was pretty clever and pretty well done. While most of the Wily bosses were the same, I like what they did with Wily 4 boss. I enjoyed the hack and the run and give it a YES vote.

Yay more community-splitters. I watched the run and I liked it, but it is really similar to the MM2 run. The hack is mostly an increase in difficult with nice new graphics. The run is highly optimal though, and it seems that woabclf spent some time on it, especially with finding that glitch 2 minutes in, in the 2nd quarter. I'll give it a "Meh" vote. It's a great run of a fairly nice hack, but if this goes through, then a plethora of other hacks should be published too.

I liked the run and it seemed optimized. Some moments of the run were also quite funny. Specially the glitch ~2 minutes into part 2 of the YouTube encode. Yes vote.

The tas shows some interesting (new) glitches, but isn't very well executed. It looks quite unoptimized most of the time. Also the game is sort of uninteresting. No.

Are you sure you're in the right thread? This sounds like a zelda-based comment.

I found this run to be pretty entertaining. Given that this site doesn't accept most of the hack runs, I don't know if this one will get published or not. Regardless, I am voting yes.

There's no rule against hacked games anymore; they're simply considered both as their own game, and also in relation to the game they were hacked from. I'll watch this tonight and vote tomorrow.

I watched this through nicovideo. As people have mentioned, it's pretty clear what gets borrowed from MM2, though there are some differences (for instance, the weapon that behaves like Quick Boomerang seems to have the amount of ammo that Metal Blade has...) The level design was difficult but interesting, and even though I was familiar with the MM2 glitches, this run still was pretty darn entertaining. As for optimization, it's clear that woabclf knows his stuff about glitches. There are unoptimized moments; for instance, I noticed some missed shots in the first stage, and every fight against the Air-Man-type boss had some pauses in the firing that didn't seem to make sense. However, this certainly doesn't look real sloppy. My view on this is that for people who like MM2, it's not just a repeat: it's like more levels were added to the game, with their own quirks. I like this, and I'm voting Yes.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. Watched, and I was very entertained. I'm not an expert on Megaman/Rockman TASing, but it looked reasonably well optimized, and certainly had enough "WTF!?" moments (like what he did to Killer Man's stage) to get me chuckling. Yes vote.

I'm with Bablo on this one. The execution of the movie looks suboptimal to me.

Can you point out specific places where it looks suboptimal? I'm curious as to what specifically looks out of place. About the only thing that bothered me personally was possible bad placement of Item-1s, but I don't think that detracted overall from my own viewing experience (as I'm not exactly an expert at Rockman or at TASes in general).

I voted meh. The hack is very unappealing in several places due to sprite flickering and somewhat repetitive stages. I liked all the action though, but it wasn't anything spectacular. The first level is full of missed shots that make the run seem really sloppy. This also gives the feeling that rest of the run is not as good as it could be, although it doesn't look that sloppy to me. More experienced MM2 TASers could probably comment on the technical quality here to help us noobies out? :)

[missed shots] Will not affect the speed Because the frog certainly will die
