I am wondering about, which emulator is better for TASing? Lot of games released for both console but Megadrive has better graphics and sound. Which emu has better slowdown features, more stable recording and avi making? I really didn't want to make a new thread for this question. And yes, my English is BAD!

I have split this off from a Gens 12 thread in the Gens forum, as I think it's irrelevant there and deserves its own thread. The rerecording versions Gens and Snes9x are fairly mature, and as far as I'm concerned can be considered just as good as each other for TASing purposes. I would care more about what differs between the two ports when deciding which to make a run of - for example the Lost Vikings run preferred the Genesis version for the ability to use three players. There are also occasions where the ports differ enough to both be published. If you have a specific game in mind, I'd suggest you ask in the threads for those games. Also, welcome to the forums!

I overall prefer Gens, but this is literally just because I've had a much friendlier time dumping AVIs with it and that I've actually made some Tool Assisted Movies on it (Not many of which will reach public attention ever). So, I am very heavily biased.

Snes9x has more features, but they're horribly implemented and contain bugs which have gone unfixed for years. Prefer Gens overall.

I split this topic to Off-topic. The flavor of his topic is which emulator is better, not which system. Either emulator is a great emulator to start TASing with. Both are pretty heavy in the feature department, and rarely desync or crash. Good luck in your TASing, Ozmozis01, and feel free to ask more questions.
