Probably just "different". I'll keep you informed when it's ready for inspection.

Cool. zsnes is indeed GPL but it's a little out of my scope as it's written mainly in assembler... (brainless in my opinion, but that's just my opinion).

ZSNES was once 100% assembly. The new movie code will be C. pagefault also wants to add AVI support, but he only plans on doing the Win32 end for that, porters will have to do the SDL version.

If I can have a soundtrack logging (wav or mp3) in the emulator, I can capture video using an external program just fine. (That's how I made talesofphantasia-intro-finnish.avi and chronotrigger-intro-finnish.avi with snes9x.)

can't wait to see superplay videos made for SNES games with the new, super-improved ZSNES. But, is there really anything happening? There hasn't been any news on the ZSNES site since Aug 11th, 2003.

Well it's supposed to have a 1.40 release soon from what I have seen on zophar site.

And that v1.40 will contain a re-recording option, or? Have you heard anything about that?

Try this page instead http://emuhost.com/ipher/zsnes/ it's updated *much* more often.

The only real problem with the WIPs is if you are a linux user as they don't always compile :/

As a Linux user, you should be using CVS just like ipher is.

I am, it's just that it isn't, or at least doesn't seem, to be as upto date and sparkly as the WIPs. :) Still, I've waited this long since the last stable release, I'm sure I can wait a little while longer.

Since the WIPs are taken from CVS, there is no way in the world that the WIPs can be updated more often than CVS.
