Btw, I'd like to know why you use the MKV encode too (should I make a new thread for that ?). The same: it's not very knowned, especially compared to avi, so why, is it better for side scrolling games because it use tricks to use less space for the same length ?
I'm asking because, you know, you are TASers and all so I guess that when you choose something it's really for having though about it a lot.
I think I already mentioned it, but using Fanboy's adblock filters may be a good idea; filters like them can block any resource requested by Flash, including ads, and I just found out that in addition to Firefox, K-Meleon, Opera, and SRWare Iron, it is also possible to load these filters into Konqueror and set up subscriptions in Arora (and there are also plugins for Safari on the Mac to let you do the same thing): http://fanboy.co.nz/adblock/
It's unfortunate that you can't just add elements of Flash ads to the filters by right-clicking the way you can with ads, but it is possible to block ads if you already know what to look for (or get a subscription from someone who knows).
I have not seen any ads on DailyMotion since I installed the filters.
i got almost every movie from here uploaded to youtube in full length. you can find the movies at http://www.youtube.com/webnations unfortunately youtube messes up the quality as well as the framerate though the load times are very good mostly.
AVI and MKV are not video encoding formats. AVI and MKV are container formats which package multimedia streams inside them (video stream(s), audio stream(s), subtitle(s), etc). They don't (mostly) care what the actual video encoding format is.
MPEG-4 Part 10 (better known as H.264) is the actual video encoding format used in the published TAS videos. (Another example of a video encoding format is MPEG-2 which is used eg. in DVD video and digital TV.)
Hello, I'm the director/presentator of "88 miles per hour" the french broadcast dedicated to the TAS available on Dailymotion.
Recently I recieve a mail from someone at Dailymotion which is really interested to help you getting the best quality for your videos. All the people who are uploading video on DM should ask for the "creative content" and become motionmakers.
With this the video quality is really better (check 88 miles per hour) and there is no time limitations.
So if I were you I'll ask, it's free and really helps:-) If you have any problem having your validation MotionMaker , let me know I can ask directly to the right person at DM.
Hope it will help, unfortunalty there is not way to put 60 FPS movies on the website (you can send it but it will be converted) , but the quality would be at least two time better.
Thanks for the help! About the 60 FPS, if you press ctrl + tab while having the focus on the flash player, statistics show up and I saw it was 60 FPS. Are you sure it doesn't support 60 FPS?

Every attempt I've had at uploading Tool Assisted Speedruns to Dailymotion has failed.
But if you are really confident you can make them be validated as creative content, I have a 5 hour TAS and a 40 minute TAS that have been refused Creative Content status.
I also admit uploading Breath of Fire II to torture the person that had to watch it and ultimately reject its Creative Content status, that is how frustrated I am with the MotionMaker program.
Incidentally, I became a MotionMaker via non-TAS related video.
Ok Flygon, I'll try to see what I can do. I think your videos hasn't been watch by the right person and that's why the creative content has been refused.
BTW I'll do to enter the TASvideo group but I've been refused. If someone can tell me why? My broadcast in your group could bring some more visitors. I know It's in french, but most people on DM are.

Retry, it wasn't me that rejected you, I'll accept you right away assuming it lets you.
If you can't get it, see about getting yourself forced into the group with my consent, assuming the Creative Content people can also administrate groups with unlimited control.
I don't get why there isn't a feature to invite people into a group, personally. Spam prevention is the only thing to come to mind.
I've try again to join the group, I don't know why it's not working... Could you accept me first has a friend? it might help. It's quite tricky to do that now, get to friend, and then click on the 2 arrows close to "all my friend" and select "new asking". I'm not sure of the translation but it might look like that.
I mailed my contact at DM and gave him your account and the one called TASvideos so be switch to full creative content. I don't know how much time it will take but usually it's quite fast.

I've tried to add you as a friend, DailyMotions friend system is very confusing however.
I still cannot find any way to add you to the group, sadly. We've been getting too many bots trying to join the group (Though the flow has slowed down recently), if I still had access to the main TASVideos account (I ceded it to adelikat because... well, he asked me to) I'd turn off the member moderation to try and get you to join again.
Ok so we are friend on DM now:-) for the group let me know when you'll be ready.
If you have any others problems with the DM, let me know, I'll see what I can do.
Hi, RealMyop. I tried to accept your request yesterday, but somekind of an error occured when I clicked "Accept" and when I came back to the "pending requests" page, there weren't any requests. So, sorry about that (if it was my fault) and hopefully you'll be able to join the group.
It seems to be ok, we've seen it with flygon, I'm in the group:-) DM try to contact adelikat for the TASvideos account but it seems complicated. FLygon you might have receive a mail or a PM from DM to talk about putting the TAS in creative content.
