(Per discussion on IRC.) It's been pointed out that this game is actually for the SuperGrafx, an enhanced version of the PC Engine (TurboGrafx-16). The question at hand is whether we should create a new system designation for this purpose or leave it under the PCE designation; more generally, we should decide what should be done under the circumstances where two or more very similar systems (generally run with the same emulator) have runs produced for them. Personally, I'd lean towards the new designation, given the precedent set by the Genesis/Mega Drive/32X/SegaCD designations (and, to a lesser extent, the SMS/GG designation). Anyway, your opinion is wanted, so extemporise away...

Genesis->32x->segaCD were major add-on additions, with full game libraries. What are the technical differences between the tg16/PCE and the supergrafx? Were they marketed as two different platforms? Or was the supergrafx more of a silent processor upgrade?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turbografx_16 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SuperGrafx SGX wasn't a silent upgrade but the console has the same CPU, Sound, and Palette. Also there is 7 total games for the SGX
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects

37 apparently for 32X, thats not what i would call "heavy", 7 only on supergrafx Hardware wise to make it short, x4 ram x2gpu (allow 2 backgrounds) Now theres also arcade cards, with a much wider library, technicaly its just more ram, yet, the changes are much more notable than for a sgx game (like granzort...)

"The enhancements SuperGrafx did have: compared to the PC-Engine, SuperGrafx has four times the amount of work RAM for the main CPU, a second video chip with its own video RAM, and a priority controller chip that allowed the output of both video chips to be combined in various ways.[citation needed] SuperGrafx had support for two independently scrolling background layers, like the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, instead of the PC-Engine's single layer." Hmmmm.... Thank you wikipedia. This sounds like a grey situation to me. A little more of an upgrade than the gameboy pocket was from the original GB, but not as much of an upgrade as the 32x was. The best I can figure, this likens to the unreleased N64 disc drive... Sure, it's technically a different system, but because of the lack of public interest, no one really cares. I'd probably vote for adding it in to the existing pce group, in the same way I'd vote for any 32xCD games (yes, they do exist) to be lumped in with either existing console.
