Now I usually try not to double post, but this is completely irrelevant to my post above. Nahoc, and I, have decided to start from scratch by creating a new route for a 120 Star run. This is due to many new glitches being found, eg, Hyperspeed Flying, retaining your speed in the water and on poles/trees. Not to mention many new routes for stars as well, such as, "Through the Jet Stream." In this case, the new route for that star requires a Metal Cap, which in RobZ's WIP was not unlocked at the time of doing Jolly Roger Bay. ______________________ This is all we have so far: BitDW+Red Coins PSS Sub-21 Seconds Whomp's Fortress (hexing in RobZ's unless anything new is found) Cool, Cool Mountain The Tower of the Wing Cap Bob-Omb Battlefield ______________________ Notice that Jolly Roger Bay, is not on the list as of yet. The last thing I have to say regarding a route is that all the 100 Coin stars (being grouped with another star, of course) will be the final star(s) of each course. Any criticism, ideas, and/or suggestions are accepted. Nahoc, and I, thank you ahead of time! :D

Thoughts: 1: I highly doubt the BoB 100 coin star is anywhere near maxed right now. I would almost bet that you can start koopa the quick, grab 100 coins, and get to the top of the mountain before he does. 2: The star on the island in BoB could possibly be improved by using a method similar to the current Chain Chomp strategy and clipping the side of the island closest to the box. 3: Has anyone experimented much with BLJing with a metal cap through water? 4: Is it useful to use the BLJ momentum transfer into the lobby anywhere? Does this affect the route? You guys should be sure to keep accurate documentation of who came up with the strategy for each star.

1. Agreed 100% - Not even close to maxed because of HSF. 2. I don't know if you can get enough speed, but it is worth testing for sure. 3. Olaus009 used a new route for Through the Jet Stream but that is the only video I know of. 4. I guess we could. I didn't really think about that.

3. Can you even long jump under water as metal mario? I thought you could only slow-jump. Also, are you trying to turn everyone into a Saturn? We don't need penis fights over who discovered what, since it's not like you get mailed a fleshlight sex toy every time you discover a trick. Listing all the authors is usually just fine.

2.Well when optimized the star on the box is faster by rock bljing. 3.No you can't lj underwater. 4. I highly doubt it, it takes too long to set up. Also i'm working on a new route for the whole tas right now too.

You do a BLJ, C-Up off a wall (after getting metal cap) and you can slide under water.

Yes, but comicalflop asked if you could long jump underwater, so I answered his question...

I was replying to him also, not you. We did it at the same time. I was explaining what Kirkq meant.

I think you should do toad before HMC because then you are closer to the staircase when you do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJP4owsoeFg&feature=channel_page
Measure once. Cut twice.

That's what I was wondering, if we could be able to BLJ into DDD with those stairs. Thanks andymac.

IIRC the BLJ into BoB and JRB is slightly quicker than the others (from either the staircase outside the JRB door or outside the BoB door), which means you should probably do them after PSS and PSS2 respectively personally, I think this route would be better: BitDW blj from stairs in room to: CCM blj to WF or WF blj to CCM blj to basement door from stairs in CCM or WF room. VCUtM warp back to start TotWC blj to BBH Go to basement door get MIPS while bljing to SSL from 0 star stairs. SSL LLL Toad CotMC HMC blj from HMC stairs to DDD BitFS warp back to start PSS warp back to start then blj to BoB blj from stairs inside BoB room to PSS2 warp back to start then blj to JRB
Measure once. Cut twice.

So, Robert's latest .m64 would still be okay ? We'd just need to pursue up to CCM.

Well there is bound to be improvements, like the fact that zb is the fastest movement after diving on flat surfaces.

Doesn't work. You forgot about MIPS 2.

How many stars do you need for MIPS 2? because I can always slot in BoB and PSS before the basement without losing any time. like this: BitDW blj from stairs in BitDW room to: CCM blj to WF or WF blj to CCM blj to basement door from stairs in CCM or WF room. VCUtM warp back to start TotWC blj to PSS warp back to start then blj to BoB blj from stairs in BoB room to BBH Go to basement door get MIPS while bljing to SSL from 0 star stairs. SSL LLL Toad <- insert mips here somewhere CotMC HMC blj from HMC stairs to DDD BitFS warp back to start and blj to PSS2 warp back to start then blj to JRB
Measure once. Cut twice.

Does it really need to be after an a+b dive or does b only dive works ?

I've never seen the bolded BLJs before (then again, I don't keep up with the new developments anymore), but if they worked, then that route would be all right.
