Probably shortly after I find a combination that works. This last week has been an annoying series of 'this should work' followed by 'nope, there's this tangential problem'. Seriously, I should probably be keeping track of a list of failed ideas, this is getting ridiculous. Powersuit alone can certainly blow up Zebes... but then I don't think Samus can get out before the timebomb's up (though there's a few possibilities I haven't checked yet). I might need to use Varia or Gravity instead. >_<

That's a script action; no damage. ... it just dawned on me I know way too much about SM.
It took THAT to make you realize?

All thanks to that solitary Nintendo game designer whose name is credited in black letters only; working after hours on the code to fortify the game's defenses. The battle of the wills has begun...

How the heck would you get past the doors that close on you at the beginning without the hyper beam (or the morphball or anything else). Unless you're given the hyper beam despite not fighting mother brain. And if you have the hyper beam, what are the difficulties in getting out?

It confuses me that I don't know does Kej want to blow up Zebes with Power-Suit ONLY like after the landing somehow, or does the trick require other items as well.

Those doors are designed to explode from any shot. You just always happen to have the Hyper beam when encountering them.

Is this going to warrant 14% runs their own category? I guess not because the site design hasn't changed.

I'm greatly hoping that the powerrangers, who seem to be nearly finished with Ridley, obselete both Hero's and Cpadolf's Any% by achieveing both the most optimal ingame clock (by mintues) while dominating the realtime as well. That would close the ingame any% down, leaving room for another category, assumptions are fun aren't they?

Given that he mentioned maybe needing the Varia or Gravity Suit, I suspect he's found a special room relatively far from the landing site where it's possible to corrupt memory (and initiate the explosion countdown) without any particularly special equipment. The problem is getting back to the ship without taking so much damage that you die. If he were going into Tourian to get to the room behind Mother Brain, then getting back to the ship wouldn't be a problem, I don't think; everything in the way is vulnerable to any shot (including the ninja pirates at the base of the Old Tourian Escape Shaft), and the route itself doesn't require any special equipment.

Not really. Super Metroid isn't specifically entiteled to 4 categories, and just because one disappears doesn't mean that another one can take its place just like that.

I just give my thoughts and opinions on stuff, I'm not directing anything at you specifically. And by "assumptions are fun" I thought that you meant assuming that the ingame run would be obsoleted, not assuming that the 14% run would be accepted because of it.

I think any run that passes a certain level of entertainment will get published. The four game megaman play movie, and the Gradius movie don't fit into any easily categories, but they're published, and special stars at that. Also one of my favorite runs is the small mario super mario TAS. How about we just stop worrying about categories, and publish the fastest movies we can with our choice of restraints.

I guess I will go ahead and spoil this. Special thx to Hero of the Day, obviously because he's the Hero, of the day. Also note that the PB trick at the start of the SMV was founded by Kriole, and included in this SMV just to make it look fresh and cool. GJGJKRIOLE! I dub it the SuperSpooferShot RBO/100% Improvement. (~80 frames: Get Owned Cpadolf!)

~15 frames faster now, and utilizes a *triple* kill with a single shot, using only 3 normal shots (to delay the hoppers) and 1 super to kill them all. Hero of the Day thought of this triple single shot kill idea and made it happen, but were keeping the same name. Now no missles are needed! In total, it is now a ~95 frame improvement to the 100%/RBO SuperSpooferShotv2 EDIT: Hah! 100% has Hi-Jump Bootz! This is now a triple digit improvment biatch.
