All recorded with FCEU 0.98.15 All played in "normal" conditions (100% unassisted, normal speed at all times). In other words, I played these in real time, so to say, using no save states at all. Mega Man 1: This is the result of several days of playing this game. This is the best I can get at it, which is not bad at all, if I can say so ;) Beat the game in 29 minutes. No deaths. Link: http://rphaven.org/gs/stuff/taringa/MEGAMAN1.zip Mega Man 2: Beat the game in 48 minutes in Difficult mode. Died twice in total (the first time I messed up in the 2nd laser pit, the second time I kinda didn't pay attention to my energy in Wily battle 1). Link: http://rphaven.org/gs/stuff/taringa/MEGAMAN2.zip Mega Man 3: The second game in the series that I played when I was a kid. In this play I died only once, and beat the game in 57 minutes. Link: http://rphaven.org/gs/stuff/taringa/MEGAMAN3.zip Mega Man 4: My personal favorite. It was the first Mega Man game I played when I was a kid. Here I beat it in 59 minutes, not dying even once (though there were a few close calls, heh!). Link: http://rphaven.org/gs/stuff/taringa/MEGAMAN4.zip Mega Man 5: Beat it in 1 hour. No deaths. Link: http://rphaven.org/gs/stuff/taringa/MEGAMAN5.zip Mega Man 6: Beat it in 49 minutes. No lives were lost. Also, it's quite apparent now that this game is shorter than Mega Man 3, 4 and 5! Link: http://rphaven.org/gs/stuff/taringa/MEGAMAN6.zip Mega Man 7: Beat it in 1 hour and 15 minutes. 100% completion; no lives lost. (recorded with Snes9X v1.51) Link: http://rphaven.org/gs/stuff/taringa/MEGAMAN7.zip EDIT: Added Mega Man 7 play-through.

Time for more SSF2 art from my more recent archive. SSF2 - Super Battle pwnage on max. difficulty with Vega Once again without a single match loss. There are only 2 battle-round losses, both of which were pretty stupid and somewhat careless, but that's it. Other than that, every fight was dominated and finished in a as much variative way as I could show, by once again using every possible technique Vega has to offer. Vega is a very fast, if not the fastest, fighter in this game (therefore sometimes also called the "Spanish Ninja" btw.), with excellent air-navigation, which allowed me to overspeed most of the opponents and control the battles pretty well. Often disliked because of his mask and the claw to get advantages in attack and defense compared to other fighters, he is nevertheless one of the best and most comfortable characters to fight with. Definitely a quality playthrough that is a must see for those who like SSF2, and want to see some effective and handy Vega-techniques to dominate in unassisted fights. Enjoy!

SM64 in 28 minutes. It's not the fastest, but it's definitely a lot better than a lot of some other playthroughs I've done. I did some longer stars to show off. no rerecords I didn't mean to fall down that hole in WF aside from my run I saw quite a few good runs going on Link: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/638525098/SUPER%20MARIO%2064%20%28USA%29.m64 EDIT: didn't want to double post: my first time ever completion of smw and it's under 21 mins. link http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1129712725/smw21mins_norerecord_andymac.smv

Okay, this I gotta try... One of my absolutely favorite games when I was a kid was Power Blade, I could finish it without dying with my eyes closed. But that was when I was a kid and not messed up with todays 3D-games... *sigh* So without further ado, here's my own take on Power Blade. I used "Power Blade (U) [!].nes" and recorded it with FCEU 0.98.12-blip.win (the one that mostly everyone else uses). The second and fourth stage is, in my opinion, the hardest levels in the game. On the fourth level, I had this nagging feeling that I forgot something. And when I got to the flying platforms in the air (before the boss), it hit me. I forgot the ID-guy... So I had to go back from the platforms in the air all the way back down... and when I get back up, what happens? I die. Of course... Frustration level 8. Other than that it was pretty smooth. Got confused a couple of times again and got a game-over somewhere, but all toghether not too bad I guess...

Actually, most here use either 98.28 or FCEUX It synced all the way to the end in .28 anyhow, so that's just FYI. ;) I took a stab at Beetlejuice. Then tried again with sporadic savestates and ALMOST beat level 1. The horror.

Ooh, I did not know that :P But you can't record fcm with FCEUX right? Anyways, tried to play Super Mario Bros. now... I'm usually pretty good at it, but apparently that's changed... *sigh* So anyways, it goes pretty good up to 8-1, and then it starts to go badly. Oh and after the first game-over, there's a small "stop" while I'm panicking because I didn't remember how to do the continue-thing where you start at the latest world. And then I remembered. Didn't finish the game, never have so without savestates, so there's no surprise... :P You can get it here: Super Mario Bros. (JU) [!].nes was used. Edit. Oh, and I just come to think about it...

I've made a remake of the music in the game actually, because no matter how bad the game sucks, the music rocks! Or atleast in my remade version ;) You can listen to it here.

I was proud of it. By the way, I decided to play a little bit of Donkey Kong Country 2. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/254573752/Donkey%20Kong%20Country%202%20-%20Diddys%20Kong%20Quest%20%28G%29%20%28V1.1%29%20%5B%21%5D.smv I must remind you people how suckish I am at TASing this game.

My previous post got BALETED!, by me. I have about three roms on my computer so anyways: smw until game over and sm64 120 stars in 3:15 I end up doing some cool tricks and random shit, if I stretched the facts a little, I could even say the "run" was entertaining! but it's not, so uh yeah.

http://terpconnect.umd.edu/~rmukhar/Zelda movies.rar In this rar there are 7 movies. 150 percent - This was me playing the game naturally at 150%. I think I was trying to play with no savestates, but got gameover at some point and then didn't mind using them. It says I rerecorded 37 times, but I don't remember where I started using them. It was a while ago, so I don't remember, but it has a low rerecord count. Ramzi z1 - This is just me playing the game normally. I beat it in 55 minutes. It says I used 3 rerecords, but I don't remember where those were. I think I might have gotten a gameover and that's why I used it. But I don't remember. Swordless - I wanted to call this "how to play Zelda stoned." And I was quite stoned when I made it. But that's probably true for the rest of the movies also. Swordless2 - This was to be my refinement of "how to play Zelda stoned." I wanted to go over the video with soundbytes, like, "Fire fire GWAR!" or "Come on baby light my fire," when I used the candle. The plot of this movie, along with its predecessor, is that Link does things like, forget where he put his sword, borrows money from friends, and has to have underground hookups (secrets to everybody, and the letter that gets you potions.) Pacifist bomberman - This is me beating the game only using bombs, except where I have to use something else. Also, I never kill any bad guys that I don't need to. Pacifist bomberman fuckup #1 and #2 - In these movies I wanted to refine my previous movie. The first movie gambles a lot, and buys a key. I wanted to do the movie without buying a key. These movies are the same in the beginning, and are only different for Level 7, Level 6, and the start of Level 9. In Level 9, I find out I am missing a key, so the challenge goes unfinished. It was a bit ago I was interested in doing the pacifist bomberman refined movie, but have since had it looming over me as an unfinished project. But tonight, after fucking up again by getting to Level 9 while missing a key, I just decided not to finish it. I think the pacifist bomberman idea is much closer to a minimal run than the swordless video. You need to know the game a lot better. Keys are more of a concern, as well as bomb drops. Not getting hit is very important for bomb drops, which I didn't consider in my first make of the movie, which is why I buy so many bombs. Ideally, I'd like to see a clean movie of this challenge, along with the 3-heart challenge. That is, 3-heart pacifist bomberman.

Here is a recent best-of-five (or 3 winning sets) tennis match between my cousin and me, played on our favourite SNES tennis game: Jimmy Connors' Pro Tennis Tour (E) - Cousin VS Saturn For those who don't know this game, JCPTT has the huge advantage to the popular "Super Tennis" in the fact that you can increase your ball shot speed the longer you hold the hit button before releasing it. Combined with various net play possibilities like agressive volleys, stop balls and lobs, you can make direct points from many positions, which increases the action and variety of the game. The key to win is finding a optimal system to build up your points every time, while trying to abuse the players weakpoints as much as possible. A few comments about this match: The breaking point in it was the end of the 3rd set, where I had several set points at 5:3 to go with a 2-1 lead in them. I didn't manage to use any of them and lost the next 4 games in a row to give that set away with 7:5. Got somewhat frustrated after that, while my cousin, who really improved in this game recently, kept playing very agressive and with almost no mistakes, managing to beat me this time in a great way. A must see for anybody who knows this game or would like to see advanced strategies and a true quality match between 2 experienced players. Enjoy! PS: Used the European/English/PAL version because it allows for more variety and faster shots than the NTSC/US version.

For some reasons I never noticed this thread. All of the following are old youtube videos that might fit here: Arcade - Puzzle De Pon R!, not all the levels (damn 10 minutes limit). I will make a full 39 levels TAS of this game eventually. Sonic 1 - Green Hill Zone 1 (ringless) Sonic 1 - Green Hill Zone 2 (ringless) Sonic 3D Blast - Tails' special stages Sonic 3D Blast - Knuckles' special stages Sonic 2 Long Version - Hidden Palace Zone 1 Sonic 2 Delta - Hidden Palace Zone 2 Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Flying Battery Zone 1 Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Super Special Stages Sonic 2 - Special Stages Arcade - Overtop, an unassisted run made years ago. I'm currently working on a TAS of this, which is considerably faster Believe me or not, no rerecords nor slow motions have been used in any of the above videos. Also I apologise if in some of those videos there are silly captions, I was experimenting with Camtasia Studio back then.

Me playing through Super Mario Bros. 3 in 2:33:03.16 (no warps): http://cid-d13171abfc66ef04.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/fsvgm777-smb3playthrough.zip?sa=556130111 The input file ends a few minutes after "THE END" shows up. I suggest you to turn the input display on. It contains some deaths, including some stupid ones. Forgot to say: It takes a few seconds until the file is fully loaded and I used the PRG1 revision. EDIT: Me playing through SML in 26 minutes and 16 seconds: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1643443225/fsvgm777-smlplaythru.vbm I used the v1.1 revision. Input file ends after the credits roll. I suggest you to turn the input display on here either. Contains a really stupid death at the beginning of 1-2.

I might just try playing a single segment Mega Man 2. Bablo and I used to work on a segmented run through the game, but that was before Seth Glass did an absolutely crazy amazing run that made even our segments look disappointing http://speeddemosarchive.com/MegaMan2.html But I did play that game quite a lot and I'm sure if I put in some time I could get within minutes of his time.

Yeah, we found a lot of ways to improve Sleepz's time, but Seth Glass beat us badly. Although I helped him with planning boss orders for both of his runs, I probably couldn't come anywhere near his times. Maybe I'll give it a try though.

Repost. Let's see me break the world record on NES Castlevania speedrun. 12:43 by SDA timing. Current run there is 13:13 so this is pretty good time. Although I did have a total of 8 mistakes which all cost at least a second of time. But all levels should be at least as fast as current record. Most time I think was saved in the Dracula fight, which went pretty much perfect. Now I just have to get the equipment to record this on real console. :) And by the way, .fm2 always shows 1 re-record count. I think it's silly. Edit: This was my 78th speedrun attempt at this game. Edit2: Also there is a TG speedrun (that nobody cares of) that is faster than SDA speedrun, but my speedrun is still 20+ seconds faster.
