According to David Wonn's site, It warps you to the first room of Dracula's Castle. It will have messed up graphics, but they return to normal when you get to his lair. You don't need to beat the last two mansions. In other words, the game will assume you have all items of dracual when you really don't.
Sounds realistic, but the question whether the holy water is needed is still open. However, to beat Dracula fast, you might want to have laurels and to get laurels you always need holy water, unless you get free laurels from the fourth mansion.

I have a new better version of the glitch. Would you like me to send it to you? It is 00:42. As for the holy water, wouldn't you need it to get the whip upgrades? If you want to be able to beat dracula you need the gold dagger or an upgraded whip.

Sure.

Yes. Though the whip upgrades aren't necessary. In the latest version (the link is in some earlier post), I played the first three mansions with leather whip. Dracula is most probably possible to beat with the leather whip too - it just takes 8 times more hits.

Ok, I'll send it now. I have done the glitch a couple of times in regular play now trying to get to Deborah Cliff (I didn't need to do them). Well, I have been trying to get that glitch to work, but I am not quite clear on the directions. I am right at Deborah Cliff with Red Crystal as my only item and trying to get hit by the flying skull, except for the fact he doesn't fly high enough. Do you know if it is possible to kneel somewhere else besides touching the wall? On David Wonn's site he said the skull is supposed to hit you as the tornado touches you.

For doing this you have to kneel a second or so before the pirate soul enters the screen, you have to crouch over the highest platforms in the one of the middle, if done correctly when you're surrounded by the tornado, it'll bounce in the screen and get hit by the enemy in it's way, it's tricky but it can be done, also i always get stuck on the wall, never actually got to castlevania, maybe i did something wrong.

Thanks. Here's an AVI of it. It shows the keypad input too. https://files.tasvideos.org/bisqwit/cv2floorv2.avi - size: 1.3 MB, length: 45 seconds

Ok, it seems as though I am making a new time attack of Castlevania 2. I'll send you another .fmv with both glitches in it, bisqwit. Edit 1: I did not notice that I wasn't recording so you will have to wait for me to get glitch 2 again. I also have found out that it is easier to do them at normal speed and not slow the speed down. I also found out a new glitch. If you jump right while flying twords the wall (as soon as you get hit from the skull right at the moment it changes screens) it warps you back to the town right before deborah cliff.

This happens to me sometimes. It really sucks, but it's really one's own fault only.

Did you manage to warp to castlevania?? I always get stuck on the wall.

Well, I got there once, and I warped to the town before the cliff once, but I found it quite hard to do. Now, with the 60fps hack, it should be alot easier to do.

Then finishing the game should be a matter of minutes since you don't need to enter the mansions to get to castlevania.

The mansions are a little boring anyway.

that depends on how you play.. i think castlevania2:sq is one of the most boring games of the castlevania games. because it's not that "evade enemies that come from all directions while going forward as fast as you can" maybe some of the feeling.. but.. not "that" feeling.. it's less fun to watch in every way.

Castlevania 64 would be the most boring of ALL Castlevania games to watch..... Anyway, I won't be able to go straight to deborah's cliff. I have to get the Red Crystal and some Laurels before I can go there. If completed perfectly, it would be the fastest completion of this game EVER without using gamegenie. Edit: WITHOUT PASSWORDS.....

Or normal passwords, for that matter. You can do it rather quickly that way, too. :P

Here is a real slow motion video of the floor trick. It displays frame by frame, thanks to the new Famtasia patch. https://files.tasvideos.org/bisqwit/cv2floorv2b.avi (0.4 MB) I think I'm starting to get it.

>I think I'm starting to get it. It look like it's when you land just as the whip disappears, but Simon is still holding his hand out. Is this what you were thinking? Even if you figured it out, it would still be very difficult to pull off when needed. But I would really love to see a new Castlevania 2 video with these bugs used.

All of this stuff (about glitches) has sparked my interest. The problem is I can't see the original movie that's up on the download site that Bisqwit made because there aren't any seeders. So, if anyone could hope on and seed, it would really help me out. I'll leave my shit open over night, and hopefully in the morning I can get started on studying and whatnot.

Yes there are, if you start downloading and wait for 10 minutes.

I've been waiting for over three hours and have yet to transfer anything. I've used bit torrent a lot, I know what's going on.... I'm downloading at 0.0kb/s and have transferred 0.0 mb. Estimated time left is ? Thanks for just assuming that I'm an idiot however. That's a good way to get repeat traffic. EDIT: Image removed to keep tables from breaking.

At the moment when this message is written Simon's Quest movie has 4 seeds and 6 downloaders, according to the tracker at http://bisqwit.iki.fi:6969/. You are most probably having some kind of a firewall problem. Similar happens always at my work. I'm not familiar with them -you should perhaps consult the BitTorrent FAQ for details. I can't really help in them.

I just tried it myself right now, works fine for me. and btw, no one has assumed anyone to be an idiot. It's pretty natural to assume someone else did something wrong if everything is right for you and no one else has complained.

He was not assuming you are an idiot. He was assuming that there were no seeds, as you claimed. He and many others have a script running which look each 10 minutes if there are any downloaders for any files without seeds and if so, they automatically start seeding it. Thus if there really aren't any seeds, you just have to wait at most 10 mins for one to appear.
