I tested some Genesis games to see if pressing left and right simultaneously caused something interesting. Here are some results I've found so far. Crack Down - It is possible to pass through narrow walls. Very effective in the later levels. The final level can be completed without any effort. The Addams Family - Backwards walking (to the left only). Gets the character inside a wall, which causes fast zipping upwards. Probably useful for some crazy shortcuts. Turrican - Amazingly fast movement (like in Zelda II) in both directions! Passes through any obstacles and extends play area limits. Must have! Hopefully someone finds these useful or funny, at least.

I couldn't find a use for this, but I thought it was interesting anyway. In Knuckles' Chaotix, holding either left+right or up+down on controller 1 in single player causes the game to accept input from controller 2.

Somebody should TAS Trampoline Terror. It has pretty extreme results with L+R/U+D. In a single frame, the player character teleports a distance that equals about 100 frames of walking. It works horizontally and vertically, but only in certain parts of the levels.

Heh yeah, that is pretty extreme. I made a run of the first two stages of Trampoline Terror with the L+R/U+D glitch to see if it was interesting, which it was somewhat at least. It seems that you get warped 256 frames worth of walking when you use it (And if you use it twice, it will bring you back to where you started, it can't be used to go in the same direction twice), and you can use it whenever there is that much ground ahead of you, but if you jump you can use it all the time, but you risk ending up outside of the stage. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/795088810/!Tramp.gmv

It sounded better than it was, still worth TASing though
