In case anyone cares, the creator (SCF) posted in the SA thread about his plans for a new game:
I've started working on something new, but it's not Exit Fate 2. I couldn't take doing another game with a massive cast like that right now. The new game will be completely original and be more of a spiritual successor to Last Scenario. There'll be another demo as soon as I get that far (it helps smooth out some issues and get feedback early on), but it'll take a while since I'm throwing out even more of the original RPGMaker game engine than in EF (for example, through some hackery I can now read keyboard input straight from the Windows API and bypass the awkward default system)
He's quite the trooper. Just finished this game and already he's started on a new one.
Also, I finally beat the extra optional boss in Last Scenario. Spoilers (highlight to see):
To beat it with the minimal amount of grinding, you'll need the following:
At least 3500 HP for each character. You can get Life Capsules from the Hydra in the Black Mausoleum. To speed it up, equip the Lure (get it at a Hex trading place), Thief Glove, Steal on all characters, and Party Hat on one of them. For the low Res characters like Hilbert, he'll need at least 3800 HP to survive Invertigo.
Maxed strength for Matilda. This is optional, but it speeds up the battle, and you're going to be at the Black Mausoleum anyway, so you might as well hit up the Black Dragons for Strength Capsules.
3 Hard Hats and a Mountain Crest. This is so Planetary Nova, its strongest attack, will heal your party. You can get a Mountain Crest at Randipur, and you'll need 30 Mole Hunter tiles to trade in for the 3 Hard Hats. The fastest way to get them is to go to the Kohlen mine, equip the Hex Champ Medal, Lure, and Swing on your fastest character. Run from all battles except moles, and use Swing for instant victory.
Intelligence/Mind Capsules from the enemy at the Hall of Judgment. This is also optional (I personally didn't do it, but it'll make your nuker more powerful and have more MP to use).
3 Warding Charms. To get a third one, trade in Selene(?)'s tile for two more.
Trade in all the tiles that give good items. Although you can't get them back, you can make an alternate save afterwards. The noteworthy ones are: 8x Infernal Ash (around 5000 damage to all enemies), Sacral Gown (auto-Regen), sacred orbs, diamond dusts, soul elixirs, all the capsules, etc.
Equip your lowest Res character with the Arch-Angel's Halo and the Mountain Crest. Everyone else gets a Warding Charm and a Hard Hat. For spellcards, equip the two fastest characters with Earthquake or X-Shield, and one of them with Stance and Fury (heal-all for 1000 HP without crisis, and you're all immune to Berserk). Give Enlight to someone as well. Your nuker should obviously be wearing the Lord-Sorceror's Gown. Have everyone's crisis ready.
Use Invincibility, Slash, Nuke, and Infernal Ash. This should kill all the helpers on the first turn. Next turn, make sure to use Mega Shield/Bastion and Stance. Once you've killed the helpers twice, they won't come back. Then you have to deal with the battle carefully so no one dies. Here are his attacks:
Planetary Nova: Heals your party.
Invertigo: His most deadly attack, does a shitload of magical damage to one target. You shouldn't die with an M-Shield and full HP though.
Grand Apocalypse: Does moderate damage to the party. Recover with Fury + Diamond Dust, or a Sacred Orb if your party members have low MP.
Meteor Shower: Multi-hit attack, not very threatening.
Breakdown: Physical attack to party. Recover with Fury + Diamond Dust.
You must keep Bastion/Mega Shield on your party EVERY TURN. Not doing so is asking for trouble. Your two fastest characters should only use their crisis for Bastion/Mega Shield. One of them has Stance, so use that to build crisis quickly. With this safe-but-sure strategy, you're almost guaranteed to beat him, but it will take quite a while (at least 30 minutes).
Damn, I type too much.
