Are there still problems in emulating the game in mupen?

There's your answer, seeing as no one is posting "OMG I fixed it!" If the news hasn't come that it's fixed, assume it isn't fixed yet. You can try the J ROM, but there's still buttloads of graphical problems with that.

I'd watched the Speeddemo speed run and now am waiting to see this game receive a TAS. Sorry to be rude, but is there anyone trying to make a playable version to TAS? Whether or not there is, how much time could be saved with great-than-human relaxes?

If there were any information, it would have been posted here. Time saved won't be known until the game actually boots in mupen64.

True. It's a shame there is no info on any improvements.

No crap, it's been working in PJ64 but not mupen since the dawn of dinosaurs. Since Mupen is the TASing emulator and PJ isn't, you can see why the problem.

That's oddly accurate.

That is also very lame. Sorry for being rude, why can't PJ64 have TASing capabilities? BTW, what makes PJ64 different from Mupen64? Perhaps learning the difference will make DK64 TASable. Though, that is wishful thinking.

Emulators don't just come with TASing features. They need to be programmed in. Mupen was the one chosen to have TASing added. PJ can't have TASing features because no one has added them, and because the most recent version of PJ is closed source. PJ64 has a different core than mupen, which is why it's different. Wishful thinking actually doesn't do shit. People who actually go about doing stuff make stuff happen; holding hands and singing Koombaya doesn't magically make your wishes come true. But, perhaps MupenPlus (something which, to my understanding, is being worked on) will fix the emulation or something. Until then, we'll just have to sit and wait (patiently). I really don't think the world is going to end if being able to TAS DK64 does not come soon.

I beg to differ, I once sang "koombaya" until I tortured the guy enough and he'd do whatever I told him to. It's interesting how effective "koombaya" is as a weapon.

I understand what you are saying, Comicalflop. However, was it necessary to be rude?

He's a very angry man, especially when people get on his lawn. Pay no attention to him :)

Actually, that wasn't where I was going with that picture. You took it in a direction that makes me look bad. I'm not an angry man, I just see the big picture and need to explain it those who don't. Now get off my lawn. You're treading on my Lemming-Sprouting flowers.

Wow, there was so much misunderstanding going on the last page of this thread. The internet is a train wreck sometimes. Comicalflop, I see what you meant this whole time. You didn't say anything offensive or rude, Mezzo misinterpreted your tone, which was in response to Mezzo's tone. However I'm guessing you misinterpreted Mezzo's tone as well, as I think there may be some language barrier issues subtly coming into play. Mezzo Dragon, is English your first language? I'm not saying your English is bad, it's really quite good, but it reads a bit strange in a few posts up the thread, and I think that's what Comicalflop was responding to, mostly in a joking way. Carry on with the waiting for news which hasn't arrived yet.
