Don't, the third one is awful. Being direct-to-video should tell you something right there...it's called "Turtles in Time" just like the game and has a somewhat similar concept, but the Turtles don't even really look like turtles, among countless other problems. #2 has Ninja Rap and Kevin Nash as Super Shredder, and that's all that matters to me... -Josh
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice

The third wasn't direct-to-video. I know, as I saw it in the theater. I didn't think it was that terrible, though I was also, let's see, 9 or so at the time.

I only saw the third once, and remember nothing about it except that I disliked it. The 2nd was always my favorite(mostly due to Tokah and Rahzar I thikn). I also used to be obsessed with a broadway play about the turtles, which I remember nothing about it.

second movie was the best. First one was pretty dark (to hide costume errors?). I've seen all three in the theatre and I remember bits and pieces from the third, and I can tell you it isn't anything spectacular. I was a huge TMNT fan as a kid, come to think of it I still have a Pizza Hut coupon on the back of my TMNT2 nes game. I wonder if they'd care that it's a decade expired...

Yeah, I meant movies not made for the theater. Like, Disney makes a lot of direct-to-video sequels to their animated films... And sorry about the mess-up...never saw it in theaters. Go ninja go ninja go! =) -Josh

I guess most of us haven't read the TMNT comics (graphical novels?). I've heard about them...at least, I've heard about the original one (I think it was the original one). Something about it being much more violent (blood?) and serious than the countless spinoffs. But, if I'm wrong, you'll have to pardon my memory since I never read the comic first-hand...

I don't think I ever read the comics, maybe a couple... and I was a huge fan, since being a huge fan as a child is practically represented by how many TV shows you watch and how many toys you own.

If I remember what I read correctly, Eastman and Laird (The creators) came up with the concept while drunk one night. I actually had one or two of the original comics, but don't remember anything about them (I do remember reading elsewhere that they were much more "adult" than the Turles we all grew to know and love, however). An interesting sidenote: The first Turtles game on NES (The weird Zelda II-like one that most people consider impossible), while released just as Turtlemania was taking off in the U.S, seems to be at least partially rooted in the comics (Note that on the cover, the Turtles all have the same bandanna color, which I believe the comic book turtles did when they first went from black-and-white to color). This would also explain the insane difficulty of the game.

I think the new cartoon show is trying to be a little bit like the comic book.
