I figured most of the PSX games I would like to seen TAS'd would have already been mentioned by now, and I was right. A fully 100% run of SOTN would take ages, unfortunately, what about a 100% relic run so he at least has to tour the castle but not transform to the wolf and dredge the ceiling of the inverted water area. Also if there's a Richter run it'd be nice if there was a 100% boss Richter run, so long as it didn't OHKO every boss with Hydro Storm anyway. Also, all the Mega Mans on PSX have quite a bit of collectibles in them... then again no one's mentioned them at all. Maybe any% and 100% runs are just assumed to be in the works. What about exclusive X and Zero runs of both types for each game? Wouldn't a run of Duke3D basically be nothing but those glitch-through-wall moves, resulting in the whole game being more loading time than actual playtime? Time to Kill and Land of the Babes are more interesting choices. Games I haven't seen mentioned in this thread: Future Cop LAPD Omega Boost Games I haven't seen mentioned, but I will... begrudgingly: Syphon Filter (I HATED THIS GAME SO MUCH) MDK One Zanac X Zanac: Zanac Neo RayStorm RayCrisis Xevious 3D/G Oddworld Irritating Stick Ehrgeiz : New Dungeon Adventure (For encoders, this game didn't output at 320x240)

SOTN 200.6% run take under 2 hours, now considering to drop all monsters on your way, hum, it will take age to make the movie, but i dont think it will make a 4 hour clear time... its probably not wasting that many time What id like to know if they will accept a low % run, im still holding the record on usa version :p

A 100% SotN run (meaning 100% enemy data, 200.6% map) wouldn't take more than a minute or two more time than a 200.6% run would. You'd need to kill each enemy twice, but that's the only significant difference. Luck manipulation to get the drops doesn't take long when the movie is played back at normal speed. But yeah, you're not going to get someone willing to do that much luck manipulation unless you understand very well how to manipulate the RNG and what values are necessary. What does low% mean for SotN? Minimal map coverage? I saw a tool-assisted run on YouTube that did that (might've been by you; it was ages ago and I can't remember who the creator was) and it had a hell of a lot of time devote to repeatedly transforming back and forth between Alucard and Wolf forms to sloooooooowly rise into the air (1 pixel per transformation cycle, IIRC).

Low map coverage yes, like in metroid games This was my video probably yeah, and this was not tool assisted, well, just savestate :p http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvRUF_fxieQ In usa version i can do it under 45 min i think, jap version can go lower % with a bug on richter, but that need you to go back and forth to library, witch take forever

Ahh, yes, that would be the one. Metroid games usually measure percentage by items collected, though, not rooms explored.

Very much Syphon Filter. I did the run over at SDA, and I'd love to see the game done perfectly. This goes for the two sequels as well. I might check it out myself, but I don't have the time for speedruns as much lately (nor much experience with TASes). Also: Mega Man Legends 1 and 2 Crash Bandicoot

Hmm Dark Fulgore did Super Turbo (arcade) also. I better check out his resumé before I request any more runs. About Megaman Legends, someone did a Megaman 64 WIP I believe.

Omega Boost is a terrific choice but I'm unsure how the levels are laid out, how set in stone are the objectives and enemy spawns? Might be quite boring to watch if you can't really bend the rules. That's also a reason why scrolling shmups l ike RayCrisis and RayForce might not be that fun to watch. You have to really outdo yourself as a TASer to make it fun to watch imo.
I generally suck at games requiring any form of skill so I watch others cheat their way through them to feel better.

I'd love to see a Final Fantasy Tactics speedrun. It was one of my favorite PSX games. Though I think it might be too boring to see spells raping everything all the time. To make it more entertaining, we could do things like playing the game only with weak classes.

A pacifist Castlevania SotN TAS would be great too? Like here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4ZI5UQTAnE&feature=related

Yeah, Ramza black or white mage into calculator pretty much wraps things up. JP glitch is beyond broken too.

Love ? that would take hours and end up to see menus going to speed of light, doesnt sound boring to ya guys? im already woried by resident evil damn fmv doors transition, but here, its going to realy weird looking, and its a very long game Also since your going to aim for time, well i guess, it mean your never going to use the camera ect... many time using blindly commands (since its square floors anyway wont bother the taser), the only thing you gonna see is spell casting :/ Meh, thinking more ahead, your suppose to turn off everything in options and the battle should be realy fast... like only see some movement/sword animation and lot of flashing menus Dont get me wrong tough, i love tactics, i have it even on psp, tough its just i feel it will look akward to watch

I said I'd love to see it because it took me days to finish the game the first time I played, and I wanted to know if it could be finished super quick. While I was posting, I remembered the completely broken skills such as Blade Grasp, Two Swords, Math Skill, and how Orlandu was like Chuck Norris in that game. That's why I suggested using only weaker classes like Knights or Monks and only their exclusive abilities. There's an FAQ on GameFAQs about the Straight Character Challenge, which makes the game a lot more difficult. Blaise is right, the JP Scroll glitch completely destroys the game, but it doesn't work on some classes.

Again, if you aim for time, you probably cant do any of this, also, your suppose to turn off all battles options, witch mean the game will look realy poor (visualy i mean, all your abilitys or summon will be discarded) But yeah, a TAS will probably finish it realy fast, tough, it will still take over 10 hours i believe A TAS like that is not realy watchable, imo

Ten hours?!?!? dude, don't exaggerate. There's a run on SDA of 4:45. You're right though. Using only weak abilities is not the purpose of a TAS. I've been convinced. Tactics sucks for speedrunning T_T

Im sorry, ok its not 10 but 4 hours Tough for 4 hours you watch a screen that flash up and ability are half truncated (to gain time), so yeah, i dont have other conclusion that it will look bad This problem would not happen with FF7-FF8 ect... because i think you cant discard attack and summon animation... so you can "watch" the fight even if the command menu flash very fast

I love tactics to death but man... that damn Ramza-Calculator/sub-mage. He doesn't even have to move. He's like some god who points his finger and goes "Yall, yeah you guys, go away". Plus there's gonna be jp grinding right at the beginning and the beginning is important for capturing attention. At least flare and holy look pretty.

I tried to imagine an FFT TAS, but the more I think of it, the more I hate the idea. At the beginning of the game, get Ramza to yell around like an idiot until he has enough JP to reach Calculator class. When he reaches, haste him and get a mediator to raise his faith to sky-high levels and start yelling again. Use JP Scroll glitch to get Holy and Flare, and from this point, you manipulate the enemies levels, exp or whatever to hit all of them with a single Math Skill. And of course, after you've seen 2459 yells and neverending ownage from Holy/Flare, you get as a bonus infinite unskippable cutscenes. What a pity. It's such a great game.

Valkyrie Profile 100% TAS would be good. It's obvious when you would need to skip through the video, and it's not like casual gamers/viewers would know about that game anyway.
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice
