Sad to say many people here don't count a speedrun based off of the game itself but of the enjoyment of watching it played... In many ways this allows voting for a speed run to be non-baised as barly anyone knows of ( or has played ) the game and is voting purly of how enjoyable it is.

Sir VG, don't take it the wrong way. I watched your run all the way through and admired the playing skills, and I like normal speedruns for a different reasons than I do tool-assisted ones. I just ment to convey that the Starfox TAS benefits greatly from the speeded-up play.

I watched the Legend of Mana Speed Runs. They were good. Though I had to delete them due to lack of space for 100% Completions.

Wow, nice work! I just love those crazy maneuvers, especially turning the blue blocks into your personal obstacle course and almost hitting that one ground crawler thing with it's own shot. :D

Warning! Details of the WIP will follow: <Spoiler> The Camera flies though one of your wingmen right after you launch ^^ Nice roll-on-the-ground-without-hurting-your-wings manuever. I see you managed to fly under the door to get the twinblasters without taking damage. (~frame 3500) Are you going to hexedit that into the Level3 run? Could you have flown a little closer to the crawler guy (~f4000) You flew THROUGH those gray blocks... O_O (~f4500) You bomb the guy chasing Slippy (~f5000). Why, exactly? Was nice though, unexpected. One of the blue pillars fell the wrong way (~f6000) A little slow on the last enemies (~f7000). Going for a, "Oh Noes! It's Starfox! Run Away!" effect? Maybe let them shoot at you first... </spoiler> Minus one or two things, this run is great so far!

+ = awesome I haven't been able to successfully hexedit this game yet. Anyone is welcome to try though, don't let me stop you. The reason I bombed the Slippy enemy is because, in case you couldn't tell from the level 3 run, I like to bomb things. A lot. Probably too much. That's how I ran out of bombs on that run. Hmm... And as for the last flying group, if you'll notice the guy on the right shoots a laser that seems to go through the Arwing. I thought it was interesting anyway.

On the level 2 boss, is it possible to kill the 4 targets on the first side before it switches, without using a bomb? You got the second set pretty quickly, it seems like that bomb would have made the final boss segment quicker.

Comments: ..First impression, a bit less interesting than Corneria, but I think that's only because it's a space level--no ground to roll on. Still, lots of dodging throughout :) ..Two birds with one stone (~f11500, again at ~f13700) ..You swing right-to-left-to-right through the beams (~f12600). I think you could have squeezed back through to the left one more time. ..Though the beam (~f14100) ..You really like to bomb stuff (~f13900). Did you need to use a bomb around frame 14700 (three guys on a beam)? And ~f15800 (four ships in a vertical row)? ..You are so mean to Falco! (~f15000) :3 ..It looks like the boss spins just barely after it becomes vulnerable (and gets bombed), but I doubt long enough for Fox's lasers to kill it--he would have to wait for it to spin around again otherwise. A bomb in the second phase might have helped a bit--it looks like future speed improvements (if anybody challenges this game again) will be made through bomb management.

I felt like playing Level 2's venom stage, and arbitrarily decided to do it pacifist style. I kinda like the result. Maybe a low% run of Level 2 would be an interesting deviation from the Level 3 TAS? Just throwing it out there, in case it hadn't been considered.

That was interesting to watch, indeed. I'm not sure how well that'd keep an entertainment factor for a whole Level 2 playthrough, though. I say go for it... and make sure those 3 sidekicks are dead quick!

Yeah, it's pretty hard to avoid getting hit, which would make a pacifist TAS interesting in theory. Healblade has a point though- watching someone dodge stuff and rarely fight back could get old fast. Not a good thing for a +20 minute run.

That's true, but that specific level was pretty nice. I was feeling like the part in Star Wars where they got to shoot the center of the Death Star.

Hmm, a low% Star Fox run? Dromeceius's run of that stage looked great, since it's such a fast-paced area with a lot of dodging and funny-moving enemies. I don't think a pacifist run of every stage would be good though. Also, 2007-03-31 was my last update? Interest is kicking in again...

We haven't seen a new TAS of this game in a long time... Now with BizHawk and lsnes around, we can now TAS the game with it speed accurate. I am working on a Level 1 warped run that goes from the Black Hole straight to Venom.

This value also does infact pause itself before the next level loads. If we're to do a new TAS with an accurate emulator like lsnes or BizHawk, it'll probably obsolete the current run.
