Has anybody thought about making a movie of this? It is an extremely unique game, made by the same people who did Comix Zone. You literally control a puddle of radioactive goo, and your enemies include drains, cleaning drones, and mutant bugs who just love to drink up the stuff you are made of. The game has a very B-Movie feel to it, with wacky horror music and levels like "waste plant" and "genetics lab" The game is ridiculously hard with extremely huge levels and a lot of traps, and it gets harder as you gain more life - the amount of life you have is the size of the puddle, but the bigger the puddle is, the harder it is to avoid enemies. What makes the game annoying is the stupid amount of hit stun you get, making it harder to fight back effectively (also, if your head gets hit, you die instantly regardless of your size). A tool assisted movie could potentially use the smallest puddle size to navigate through enemies faster. There are two endings, one in which you remain goo, and a good ending where you turn back to human, but they barely differ. The good ending requires that you collect a set amount of DNA items every level, most of which are well hidden. I have a complete japanese guide for the game with detailed maps in case anybody wants to tackle this game.

I'll just say I'd be interested in watching it for reasons pointed out. Never beat this one, even using savestates it was too frustrating.

OK, on that movie, he is stuck at the part where there are 3 doors. He only entered the first two. The third one has a secret opening to the left which opens the gateway to the right. edit: also, wouldnt it be easier to use the poles to vault through some levels, ex in stage 1-2?

Thanks for the compliment, upthorn! Unfortunately, my TAS activity is close to zero at the moment and it will probably remain so for some time. I have no ongoing TAS projects and my motivation is currently pointing to another direction. I'll be around here, but it is unlikely that I make any TASes in the near future. The Ooze looks like a funny game, but I've never played it much.

I don't have the patience nor the time (nor the experience) to make TAS videos. But I think it just boils down to the fact that I'm the only one here who finished the game. Thanks for the maps satan! I like reading Japanese but it's almost too easy with furigana :( I'll probably try to finish my test run soon.

I've made it past the first level. I had to look up how to beat the first boss. Took me like... 15 minutes with no good FAQs around. D:

I completed in 27:25 (Microstorage was down, I'll change the link later) without DNAs. I could try seriously with all DNAs. Satan, did you check the number of DNAs in maps you gave? I got 51 (8-8-7-10-8) + 2 from special rounds in each level. So, one DNA could be skipped (obviously one special round). And does one DNA from 4th level go to 3rd level's DNA helix?

From memory: Every 1st and 2nd stage has 5 DNAs each, 3rd levels are always boss fights with no DNA. Out of those, 4 DNAs are scattered throughout the map and the 5th is always hidden in a secret room (the one with the rabbits). This is how it was when I beat the game. If you found any extra, it may have been because the game has branching levels very often.
