And most of that is due to the index at the end of AVI file. If we published MKVs, they would be smaller because the structural overhead in MKV is smaller than in AVI. (Also, I love the possibility of watching a movie still being downloaded. Using a compression scheme quite much foils that chance.) (Also, the thing is about TCP/IP, not about CPU power.)

all of the torrents that I have tried with Bitlet have a "Cannot find metafile" error to it. are the files even there?

Agreed, and the one reason why I sometimes find BitTorrent a bit annoying - it frequently ends up that you have almost all of the first 80% of the movie, except for one sliver 10% of the way in...

I can't use uTorrent. I am running on a mac our school gave us and it has parental controls on it.
