With the TAS input plugin 0.6, it's possible to have the analog stick up to 127 away from center. However, on the original N64, the limit seems to be 64. Having the analog stick at 127 allows impossibly fast turns in some games, I.E. Rainbow Six. So, in a TAS, is it allowed to make turns that are impossible on console with the TAS input plugin?

The x and y axes are each 8 bit long on the console, so there are 255 possible values on one axis. The reason why some "turns" (turning around?) are so quick mainly should be because I'd find it extremely difficult to pull the stick to the other direction in under 16ms. (1000ms/60fps). So I think it should be allowed.

I disagree. Rainbow Six is a first-person shooter, and if you have the analog stick at -127 Y, it's clear that it's a different camera angle than when you have the analog stick as high as possible on console.

I'll answer your question with another question: do you think left/right and up/down should be allowed? if so, then by all means you should feel the same way for the analogue stick. Regardless, left+right and up+down are allowed on the site, so I don't see why this shouldn't also be allowed.
<adelikat> I am annoyed at my irc statements ending up in forums & sigs

You can easilly replicate the effect on a console if you hold the analougue out of position when starting up a game. Doing it however would be useless for all games as it just netruelises movements.
