Does anyone know of where I can find a video of rolling into Jabu? Or at least does anyone know the approximate whereabouts of the spot to roll? Or if it's even possible?

For anybody who is interested, here's my current WIP. It's just entering Hyrule Castle, the previous WIP was in the Spirit Temple. One major mistake I am aware of is that I had to make an extra pause to equip the slingshot which costed me ~5.5 seconds. This is because I assumed incorrectly that I could do the owl skip at Hyrule Castle with the sword/stick instead of slingshot/stick.. -_- ... so i didn't equip the slingshot when I had the chance to back in Dodongo's Cavern. Anyways, comments/suggestions/improvisations for future reference would be very helpful. Thanks http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1083814963/THE%20LEGEND%20OF%20ZELDA%20%28USA%29.m64 BTW, don't forget to activate Mempak.

Actual movement was great, but I have some comments/questions about the route choices. 1) When you sidehopped after the dodongo cavern, you hung on the wall a bit... was that to avoid damage? You could have eneded up closer to the village otherwise... 2) Ok, the cucoo route confused me. What did going into the hole change? also, what happened to the sidehop method of getting over the gate? You'd be able to sidehop more instead of carrying the cucoo away from the pen... unless I'm missing something 3) Loved the stylistic choices like the forward-facing-camera backwalk, and the dodongo fight. Great job and apologies if the above questions about "mistakes" are misinformed :)

Dropping into the hole respawns the cucco at it's original location.

I must say that this WIP's amazingness melted my face... it would be a crime if the run was rejected If the rest of the run is even half as entertaining(which I doubt seeing as how I love the adult dungeons) it will still be the most entertaining TAS id have ever watched Also the bombchu/bomb usage is so greatly planned, i dont think there rlly is any route improvements thus far EDIT: One question though, did the continuous sidehopping stop you from having to listen to the cutscene in DC, or was it something else?

1) The goal of the superslide was to superslide using the hit from the tektite. I found that sidehopping off was the fastest way to reach it, the wall just happened to be in the way, so i used it to stop me and lead me down to the tektite. 2) The hole reset the position of the cucco I used to get behind the fence, what Yautja said. It turned out a lot faster to just use the cucco, since sidehopping off the tower meant me backtracking and climbing up that long ladder. 3) Thanks a lot, I try to keep the run entertaining without gaining any frames =] Also chaosv1 thanks a lot I appreciate the compliments. Which cutscene exactly are you talking about?

After having fixed my desync problem all I have to say about this WIP is WOW. Way to keep it entertaining. I LOVED the Dodongo fight. Didn't think bombs were that bouncy :P.

I was talking about the cutscene that activates whenever you are near lava. Where navi tells you that there is alot of lava even though its completely obvious

=] Thanks a lot. Yeah, I tried to make the Dodongo fight as entertaining as possible since you have a lot of time to stand around.

First it gets skipped by just avoiding going near the lava. Then it gets skipped when you jumpslash down off the bridge and land in his mouth after you light the eyes

You are very talanted, promising WIP But why the hell aint you working on a run that uses the DoT skip? Or is this just to practise your TAS skills

I know its probably a bit late now that the run is 40 mins, but could someone make an avi, even very low quality, because the furthest ive gotten it to sync is up to the owl, but you end up talking to it. That was woth rice, after messing around with some settings. Both jabbos desynch after sowd, and gln64 and glide, and direct64 all dont work on my pc

I would make one, but my encoding skills are very poor =[. It would probably need gln64/direct64 to work for you. Hopefully someone with encoding skills takes up your offer though. Also, SL is working on a DoT skip/RBA TAS which will beat the game as fast as possible, as opposed to mine which shows all the recent TAS-only temple/trial glitches/tricks that typically wouldn't be used nowadays because of the DoT skip/RBA

Rice's Plugin should work. Are you using a mempak because i forgot that and it messed me up before. Also you sidehop through the lava at somepoints...why doesnt the cutscene activate then?

I think it only works at the front of the lava pits, and when you are ON the platform in the middle, like if you drop onto it from the bridge. The sides of the lava and the back apparently don't activate it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqkLX2_pjUg This could definitely help get into shadow early as an adult faster than the current methods if you used 1 bomb to superslide rather than manipulating the poe

How will the bridge be gotten over in the TAS using DOT skip since you can't pull out a deku stick to do ISG to do Acryte's skip. I was thinking 1. Glitch for Epona 2. Re steal rod (please say this isn't the one) 3. Find an angle you can megaflip over (I tried and couldn't) 4. Hookshot across without needing ISG (might be possible since it is TAS I couldn't get it but I didn't try long) If you have any other ways let me know.

Not one I am going to submit or show anybody I know you, AKA or both are going to or have already started one. It is just something I am doing for fun. I have another question. Coming from the lost woods is it faster to glitch on to the bridge (megaflip or hookshot) and Superslide to kakariko. Or is it faster to go through the goron warp and get to the top using hookshot and come into kakariko? PS: I hope you aren't mad I am making a run. As I said I don't want to compete with you guys it is just for fun, I'm not going to post or submit.

If it has fairly good quality, you may as well submit it, as the worst that could happen is that they reject it. I'd say the sooner we get the old OoT run down, the better, and it's not like that prevents Swordless and AKA from submitting theirs. Besides, competition is good. It makes for lower times. Also, bridge skip with no ISG. http://youtube.com/watch?v=8PB1Hba56IY

Is a low% a possible category in TAS, or is it not accepted?

It's an acceptable category, since you can beat OoT with a minimal amount of items. Super Metroid has one, as does Rygar. I don't see it being an entertaining category for OoT, though.

It isn't that good of quality since when I started I knew it wouldn't be being submitted. Probably what you would consider a test run, maybe it is slightly better quality. If SL and or AKA wouldn't care I could post a M64 if you were curious. Just know I wasn't trying to be 100% optimal just making it for fun. Also can anyone answer this for me I really want to know.
