I dont suppose a properly timed bomb blast could alter your momentum enough to make a difference?

I'm not sure, but couldn't a backwards sidehop help in getting the right angle? If you didn't know, its done the same way as the sideways backflip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDQ1jCHAXTY Just do a sidehop instead of a backflip after the roll. A TAS should be able to get Link to face almost any angle by timing the sidehop on different frames after the roll.

The problem is that in order to get Link through the door, he has to be facing a certain angle; in particular, it is not a very steep angle, you still need to kinda bedirectly facing the door. I have gotten 3 different angles to work, none of them are inwards enough so that Link can catch the ground when he jumpslashes.

I'm pretty sure its more to do with Link's velocity angle other that his allignment with the door, as Yautja just pointed out there is a trick to make Link sidehop in a direction which isn't at right angles to where he's standing, but damm that method will be hard to test.

To say the least. It would be possible to beat the game without completing a single dungeon.

You wouldn't be able to go straight to the ToT if the skip is made possible which at this moment is hard to say. You would need: 1. Bottle - From Kakariko 2. Ocarina - Probaly best to get this as YL 3. A way to get to the fishing pond as AL - Probaly by using bean 4. The bottle with the letter - So we can glitch a light arrow 5. A way to get the poachers saw - I think its best to glitch and play the RoS and go backwards through the wasteland and get caught at the gate. 6. A way to skip back past the DoT as AL - you could either reset or fall into the void until AL dies. I think it would be best to skip the odd mushroom in this instance since you have to goto the bother of getting explosives as a child in order to obtain them. Perhaps getting the sun song in the graveyard in order to speed up the hatching process might be better. This leaves another difficulty of being able to obtain the magic at DM, but you can use a tecktite hover in order to skip the boulders. Skipping the DoT would probaly save about 25 mins, So that would put projected completion at around about 1:15. Lets not get ahead of ourselves here, there is still some technical hitches in pulling this off but at least a solid theory exists.

We'll also need the Bottle of Letter to get arrows. Since we're going to need the Golden Scale for that, we should skip the Kokiri Sword and use Deku Sticks on B in the Temple of Time instead. That is, assuming that the trick, if it works, can also be done with them.

The first one seems most promising of all... there has got to be a way to make this work. Would be a shame for the SDA people if it turns out to require precision impossible in real time, since they discovered most of this and all.

At SDA, there seems to be some mad progress on the temple sequence break. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbiuTSxTctM http://youtube.com/watch?v=IRxUQQT1A6M&feature=related http://youtube.com/watch?v=ENG5r-e0lmY
The first and third, together, make me think that this thing will work. It's somewhat frustrating if it's true, because it will take much of the adventure out of the any% run... Also, if this works, would the hover boot jump to the castle still be required?

The first one seems fake to me. I'd believe it if we saw how he got where he was at the beginning of the video.

It was only a demonstration to show that once you are in the pillar, you can pass the DoT.

That was as close as I was able to get the other day http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=tJ7DL2JcZUc There is one frame where you can't jumpslash because thats the frame where Link lands. Link actually stands on a very narrow bit of land and then gets ejected because the area is too small to stand on.

This sounds like a perfect application of the infinite sword glitch. Activate the glitch on the altar, sidehop through the acute angle, catch on the ledge due to the glitch, center yourself and then jumpslash into the corridor.

I was wondering if someone who is good at the type of thing and has the time, would post what the route would look like if this door of time glitch ends up working out.

People at SDA have tried that a lot, but it seems that you can't get through the wall with the glitch activated.

Logically, this is what it'd come out to be: Child portion: 1. Kokiri Forest: Collect Kokiri Sword; purchase Deku Shield 2. Lost Woods: Escape the forest early 3. Hyrule Field: Peahat superslide to Gerudo Valley 4. Gerudo Valley: Cucco jump over the gate 5. Haunted Wasteland 6. Spirit Temple: Collect Bombchus; Deathwarp 7. Kokiri Forest 8. Lost Woods: Use bombchus to blow up boulders 9. Goron City 10. Death Mountain Trail: Enter the village from the gate's other side 11. Kakariko Village: Collect Cucco bottle 12. Hyrule Field: Superslide to Gerudo Valley 13. Gerudo Fortress: Obtain the Odd Mushroom, then get caught 14. Lake Hylia: Obtain Gold Scale; collect bottle with letter; owl warp 15. Temple of Time Adult portion: same as before. I can't see this going under an hour. Maybe 1.5 hours.

I'm just trying to convey information ASAP, considering the magnitude of this trick and the cumulative time people have spent trying to land this seemingly impossible sequence break.

Sorry if I'm just being an annoying messenger, but someone at SDA also gave a very detailed plan involving the TOT sequence break. Someone commented on a few parts, which is bolded.
OoT MAJOR major skips segmented route seg 1 -intro seg 2 -sword seg 3 -shield -talk to mido -get 3 deku sticks -save seg 4 -head to lost woods -escape the forest -over to GV -cucco jump -save in the fortress seg 5 -gate skip -cross the wasteland -save in ST seg 6 -talk to nabooru -kill all enemies in the next room -light torch in next room -use stalfos to megaflip in gate bridge room -You almost always can pick up 20 rupees from killing that enemy with the fire. -get key Optional save here, I would say. I can't imagine you losing more than 15-20 seconds here, and you've already got Nabooru text, a megaflip off an enemy, and in the next segment a hover off of enemies up to a switch, something I think would be incredibly difficult. -get to bombchu room -activate ISG off of sun -use lizalfos to hover up to the switch -get chus -save seg 7 -requiem (any way to bybass this) -savewarp seg 8 -lost woods -goron city -blow up rocks -go to death mountain -blow up boulder in front of DC -enter and save seg 9 -DC as usual up to bombs -save seg 10 -exit -go to kakariko -gather cuccos + 20R in hole (new fast route?) -get bottle *optional save in well* -exit kakariko -superslide to gerudo -over the fence *optional save in fortress(will cost about 5-7 seconds though)* -get up to mushroom -get caught and thrown in river -Lake hylia -fishing pond for gold scale and steal rod -get ruto's letter -get bug next to pierre in c bottle (might be faster before the pond) -BA crap -re-equip sword -head out to hylule field -single bomb hover over both fences -Ok, I'm probably missing something but why can't you just climb the ladder? -superslide to castle -omg super awesome ToT SB -master sword -blarg cutscene -walk right through the door of time and leave the temple -to kakariko -get shield from graveyard -odd potion from old lady -save seg 11 -superslide to lon lon -steal epona -to the forest -single bomb hover over ropes -trade for poachers saw -megaflip back to bridge -over to lake hylia -steal rod again (sugestions for 20R?) -I bolded this earlier. -more BA crap -to gerudo -trade for broken sword -last BA thing -re-equip sword *optional save* -ocarina items warp to graveyard (remember, no ocarina) -up death mountain -get magic -save seg 12 -light arrows -ganons castle -barrier skip (I think bomb hover method is faster) -save seg 13 -up the tower -ganondorf -down the tower -ganon -Hope for sub 1 hour Bombs can be skipped but would add a lot of time. We wouldn't be able to steal epona, get the mushroom as child, hover up to the fishing pond as adult or superslide. Also, if when this is confirmed, the only items that still cannot be skipped are light medallion, light arrows and magic. We can't skip everything for an extremely low% because some items are needed to skip others, but there is a way to skip every other item one way or another. Magic might happen if we can expand BA, but light medallion and light arrows are unlikely.

That's a segmented route for running it on a console.
