Agree.. Low health would be awesome and might be beneficial. Might get frustrating at some points though. Could get boring after a while as well. Try to balance it.

Desperation attacks are disabled for the first 23 seconds of the battle. Some boss won't last that long. The time limit was the major reason this version wasn't going to be final. I thought that the movie would desync on the next version of Snes9x. But now with the possibility to patch the current version... I could apply the patch myself. Is there a way to make it compile with Visual Studio .NET ? Or is it a way to install Visual Studio 6 without uninstalling .NET ? I would like to make some additionnal modification myself : Remap the frame advance key and add an option to show a memory location onscreen. Since all battle timing are based on a frame counter, I could try to hex edit. The result would be a character staying still for a delay of 0 to 59 frames.

Morph + 2 earrings + Ice Rod should take out Flame Eater on one hit.

Hmm.. I thought it was revivify that that should be used in order to kill the phantom train? Can't remember. :) Either way it will be worth a try.

I think it's Fenix Down. Why couldn't Squaresoft spell in those days? Personally I'd like to see a run of the FF6 proper translation/bug fix but I seem to remember that hacks aren't allowed, so...

Any restorative item or spell will damage the GhostTrain. Perhaps one could throw a spare X-Potion just to be different?

Yeah, that would be unusual. maybe there's a treasure box somewhere along the way that's not too far off, i can't remember though. I remember the first time i did that boss when i was at lower levels as i hated training, and didn't know you could use a Pheonix, sorry Fenix Down.

Depends on how much difference in frames there is between an X-Potion and a Phoenix Down. :p

The way it worked in FF7 against Gi Natak was that the reviving item only had a chance to kill him in one hit, while X-Potion was a sure bet. Not sure if it's the same here. And seeing that they correctly spelled the esper's name Phoenix, I'm sure it was intentional to name it Fenix Down

Fenix down should be instant kill on zombified monsters. It never misses as far as I know.

Even if a Fenix Down could fail, I'm sure it can be manipulated to always hit. Also, perhaps there is a max name length that prevents "Pheonix Down" from fitting.

Actually, there's a couple of Fenix Downs in the Returners' Hideout. The closest one is probably the one in the treasure chest near the bed that Terra wakes up in.

I would like to have extra subtitles with this movie. When I was creating the heavily blurred AVI, I was thinking something along the lines of "Locke's introduction", "Edgar's introduction" (scene labels) and some technique explanations ("Vicks and Vedge escape the battle quicker than the girl because they're in the front line. This way, the girl gets all the experience.")

I'll make the graphics for that; entirely in FF6 box style. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference between an in-game box and the one I'd give you. That is, if you want it and want to go ahead with that plan.

I don't think I can do that with the software I'm currently using. (Bisqwit's way of thinking:) I'd have to create a program that filters the AVI and adds those subtitles graphically to it...

Also, Bisqwit, this is very easy to do with standard video editors such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Ulead Mediastudio Pro. I'll do the graphics if you want me to (painstaking letter copying and pasting in Photoshop from normal dialogue windows). :)

BTW! Will this run wait and save Shadow? Or will it just rush past it all?
