I will improve even this WIP further, I promise. :)
This is a very risky statement. The only possible improvements that can happen would come from the new momentum boost tech, and it seems that Taco and Kriole already used it on every possible spot until pre-Torizo. Good luck to try anyway.

Poking holes into things only works when the holes are available in the first place. Their latest WIP (with full support of my one) very likely doesn't offer this feature anymore, at least not until pre-Torizo. You are always welcome to prove the otherwise though. Anytime. :-)

If you can beat the game by glitching into tourian and glitching past the mother brain I'd really like to see it, I'm sure others would too. There's speedruns for Zelda 2 and link to the past where they use 2-directions at once to go almost straight to the end. This sounds at least as good as that, The going through walls glitch seems to have a lot more merit and thoughtfulness than pressing 2-directions at the same time that you can't do with a normal controller.
You can, Kejardon had a .smv somewhere that showed off pretty much exactly that.

Yeah why should they get any credit when your imperfect movie was the only thing that ever made any improvements possible. I think they would've achieved this level of optimization even without your improvable movie, just because Taco won't move ahead until he's tested all the possible timesaving options in one spot.

NBMB means "no boss/mini boss" and indeed there has been a way found by Kejardon to skip even motherbrain. Also this brings the lowest possible item% down to 7, though it requires another very boring glitch no one will use. (pausing repeatedly makes you unable to die, but takes extreme amounts of realtime to do)
If it's only 7% why hasn't the low% run been replaced with that? Someone said they thought 0:15 was possible with this, isn't that pretty fast, does that beat game time record? Would the real time be much different than an hour like the current low% run is?

As I and others have stated before, it's because the method for the required sequence break is painfully slow and boring to watch. It may be a short run, but if a significant portion of the movie is spent in one room crawling ever so slowly through the environment, people tend to lose interest in watching it rather quickly.

I prefer a bit longer, more entertaining run over many variations of the already seen run Kejardon invented. I don't really give much about how fast the game is beaten, just seeing really good optimization, nice bunch of speedtricks and a high entertainment value it's better than a boring TAS beating the game really fast.

Thats exactly what I do as well. The only main reason they improved my demo was because of the new momentum boost tech I didn't thought could ever be of benefit, and some uber crazy Taco-subpixel optimizations even subpixel-master moozooh failed to get. Other than that it's basicly the same thing. But don't worry, we will get the answer whether my demo was of benefit or not when we see their independent progress in the past Torizo parts of the run.

Hehe, made me smile ^^. Your demo WAS of benefit, but the new OTES would have been discovered by me anyways, since as I mentioned, I knew of the possible climb and I would have tested it. It was actually the first smv I created. Our testrun has been commenced, and the next WIP will NOT come soon. All the best.

So you are going to do a complete testrun before continuing on the run?

Since we decided to do an RBO instead (the improvements for the any% are so subtle if comparing to Hero's run, so it would not be worth spending months of optimiziation just for the timer) so we need to test potential ammo issues. We are doing 15/15/30 ammowise and skipping 2 energy tanks over the usual. If everything goes as we predict it should, then it will work out well. We are gonna test different routes, different ammo issues and different room strategies, finally ending with a superoptimized LN.

I would not call over a full second subtle to save this early over a 6-7th generation run. I appreciate that you chose to to do a RBO instead though, more entertaining.

So you mean 15 Supers 15 PB's and 30 missiles or 15 missiles 15 super and 30 PB's? I don't really get it if you mean the latter.

Yeah and then you quit and we'll never ever see maridia... Ever.

w00t? Portions of our LN will be directly copied into our real run, saving countless of days. Maridia will come... eventually.

Oh I just understood why, wave PB spam. Though are there that many pickups close to the route? Well I guess you have thought it through. Also considering the missile count I presume you will go strictly for realtime?

Yeah I was just poking fun at the fact that no one that has begun working on a RBO has ever finished maridia. From what I heard Saturn was close but found some improvement restarted and stopped working on it. I really hope you sit this one through.

You got to admit though that there is some intrinsic value for a simple, non-subjective achievement of getting the fastest time. Entertainment value is subjective and a way different goal. I'd be interested in any run that's faster than an other, no matter how much less entertaining it may be. This sounds like an interesting glitch, it's always interesting to see games get broken badly. If there's a run with much less percent items collected, someone should submit that. Also if there's faster ways to beat the game but you aren't using them you can't claim the title goes for fastest time and you should say that there's a faster way to beat it in your comments. Same for low%

Thanks, Spider-Waffle, for stating the obvious. We sure didn't know that.

If you're ever gonna stop this one too and start something else/not start anything/quit it before Maridia I will stop liking the powerrangers. I would be very happy to see it proved that this is the most optimal route.

I to hope that they don't quit on this TAS. also, does the emulater here (the first one) get rid of the desync? I hope so.

I was thinking about if upward CWJ can be done after door transition? It would help probably in the transition between Green and Red Brinstar, getting you up earlier thus sooting earlier and making it before the ripper. Another place I thought this would be useful is pillar room -> gold pirate room in LN. These are both long shot but I can't test these by myself at the moment so I'll ask if anyone has information on it.
