Sometimes exceptions can be made. None of the Morimoto's movies at my site have been submitted by Morimoto himself.
Similar for Yy's SMB1, the Zanac video (which I think was rejected) and Toxin's SMB3 and probably something else too. Phil has submitted some movies made by Genisto.
The key is that they are properly credited.
If submitting someone elses video, I think it's a good idea to ask permission first. It's not guaranteed that they want it on this site. If you don't know who made it, make some research first.
I think that the movie header intro should include the words savestate and slowmotion. Also, I'm not too fond of the new 3d-intro, it's difficult to read. All in my humble opinion.
I liked it when the subtitles explained what bugs were being performed, as in W&W with the level-1 warp. Perhaps that could be used some more. The new rygar video comes to mind, a lot of glitches there.
I agree. It'll be changed (but I don't know when).
I'd like it if someone made those subtitles for me.

The first number is the frame number when the text appears, the second number is the frame number when it disappears. 60 fps.
I'd like to use this feature more, but I don't have time and energy to craft all of those myself.
If the movie authors can make those subtitles and include in the submission, I could use them in the encoding.

You'd encode them into the movie if it's accepted?

I'll always make the first two lines myself (gamename timeattack played by xxx, play length nnn rerecords nnn and this is a blaa blaa, check url).
I use a program to generate them automatically.
But I'm now talking about those extra lines that may be used in certain positions of the movie to explain what's about to happen or what just happened.
Sounds interesting. Probably there'd be some problems with people messing up their tags now and then but it's a neat possibility. The newly submitted Mario Bros video could use it a lot if we found out who did it.
Are the subtitles in 60fps even if the movie happened to be recorded at 50fps (depending on game version)?

It's possible to configure it, but it affects all subtitles of the particular AVI then.
I'm trying to always avoid the subtitles masking interesting parts of the screen.
Perhaps you could have a sequence with a logo displayed prominently, and then use the same logo in corner of the video as a 'bug', as it's known in the TV industry. It'd be best if the logo was some multiple of 16 pixels in both directions, when used as a bug, due to the fact that MPEG-4's macroblocks are 16x16 (meaning that artifacts are more likely to occur if a straight edge hits anywhere else than these macroblock boundaries).
Or, you could increase the frame size vertically by 32 pixels and then use a subtitle that only covers up stuff in the bottom 16 pixels of the actual NES frame, if that works with the information you want to present.
Just a couple of ideas to throw out, keeping in mind that Bisqwit has already stated that he wants the subtitles/identification to be impossible to edit out. Perhaps if you went the logo route, you could make the logo universally accepted to mean 'non-realtime trick run/time attack done with savestates and slowdown', so that the mere presence of the logo would clue people in to the fact that these videos do not compete with realtime hardware speedruns.
