I fully expected my run to be beaten by four minutes because of the new glitches CAD found. Frankly I was disappointed this couldn't go sub-5.

I was actually aiming for Sub-6, but I couldn't get that. If only some new glitched doors could be found, this could be possible. About the slug, just jump over the first Slug without taking damage. Since the slug and two alligators are on the screen at the same time, the second slug won't appear.

I think I didn't jump high enough in my attempt and the alligator didn't load. Thanks CAD. Also, I just want to congratulate you on your great work with the v2 of Widget. I think this definitely deserves to get published. I don't think I can do sub-6 either, I'm going for 6:35 in my next run, mainly from little optimization tweaks and such that add up. 6:30 will only be possible if some new glitch shows up.

Would it be faster if the ladderglitch is used on the first ladder? Did this in real time so it looks bad but it's the concept thats important. FCM File. The idea is to reduce the climbtime.

That's a good idea, but it doesn't work unless you can get the glitch to activate on the first try. Otherwise, the extra load time eats up the time saved. In the new movie, I just zipped to the ladder on the first frame it became climbable, which is probably faster either way.

I told CAD about this in IRC, but may as well post it here as well. First room exited earlier than in the current published run. Sadly it doesn't seem like it's possible in other places.

Same with the Boulder Dash run, here are the possible improvements that got lost with my hard drive crash. -Kenny's trick saves exactly 255 frames. -In FlimFlam-3, you should morph to mouse immediately without zipping, run off the left side of the screen, then hit L+R to wrap to the right side. Then start moving right to be warped to the center of the screen. A similar trick was used in Dante's Room 6. -Also in FlimFlam-3, in the pit where it is not possible to keep from getting hit, it is possible to regain running speed faster by timing the damage so that your hurt sequence lands on solid ground sooner and reverts. Untested, but there is reason to suspect the final boss can be killed faster. Firing the bullet so that it hits Ratchet just as he throws his finger fireball could take advantage of the state change glitch and allow the bullet to damage him 3 times instead of just 2.
