Dear Bisqwit, I was wondering why is AKA an editor, since his English, despite being his mother tongue, is really... bad (my editor status is also questionable, because I rarely use the power vested in me. If you decide to take it away from me because of this message, I won't complain, but I would like to keep my status and use it for the best of this site.).

Thank you for the feedback. When I granted AKA's request, I did not see a sign of "really bad English". Upon your complaint, I checked his recent posting history as well as the (three) edits seen at FullRecentChanges, but I couldn't see any sign of "really bad English", or even "bad English" there either. Can you elaborate?

Well, first of all you'd better check this page and it's history. This is also a good example of AKA's English. His most recent edit, which made no sense, can be found in Full recent changes (Aladdin movie description). If you don't consider AKA's English that bad, I won't start arguing with you because I've already expressed my opinion.

Guybrush, you never make good or useful posts yourself other than 'read the FAQ [/url] ' also that OoT tricks resources is still largely in progress, and yes I already know most of the corrections. EDIT: I noticed you brought up the Aladdin description There was a good reason for that (for me at least). The main criticism I have of editors and publishers on this site is that there not neutuel or impartial enough in there descriptions and editing, often trying to credit or promote themselves[*] or others for runs, or use words like 'incredible' or 'amazing' improvement/TAS. Deny it all you like but its not fair on other movies which are actually more surprising compared to the runs they obseleted. [*] much like adelikat did with his Gradius run in the full Arkanoid run description, or when Phil tried to make out that using 2 characters in Double Dragon 2 was really hard to do as well as Bisquit himself crediting himselfing for figuring out how to pass through walls in SMB3.

The only entry in the history of that movie is Bisqwit's initial description, I don't see how Phil "made it out". EDIT: Same goes for Arkanoid, adelikat never edited it, it was Arc who changed "Morimoto's" to "adelikat's".

So it's a good thing that you changed it to say "This improves the previous movie by 3 minutes and 14 seconds over the previous movie"? Guybrush was not commenting on policy. He was commenting about language. Tautology falls to the domain of language, not policy :)

Thats what minor edits are for. I noticed and corrected it right away, so whats your point? Policy is more important than aimless elitism.

The use of the word 'amazing' in the description of that movie, to me, implied that the magnitude of the improvement itself was 'amazing' (in a quantitative sense), not the actual movie (which I'm aware isn't the most entertaining of movies). To me, this seems to be less of a breach of site policy than if the sentence had read something like, "This amazing movie improves the previous movie..." That's just me though.

You did? I don't see such edit in the changelog. The system combines multiple edits that happen in a short time so what I'm seeing in the changelog is actually the sum of your original edit and the minor edit. Also, do not take me wrong: I am not pointing a finger at you to blame you. However, since Guybrush did, and you ignored / misunderstood what he said, I took it upon myself to point out what he was trying to convey, in hopes that you can address his claim in a way that satisfies all readers.

It seems that AKA made my point even clearer with his spelling errors. I rest my case.

Broooooooom.
First of all, quoting a post and changing the content is extremely confusing and kinda stupid. Second of all, I don't understand what you mean by "brooooooooom". Could you please explain?

Why the hell are you so pissed? Are you saying that Guybrush has made groundless claims about you? Spread malicious lies about you? As far as I can see, your English IS horrible and you have no right to get angry at someone just because they point out the truth. EDIT: To clarify, I did not take a stance on whether or not AKA should be an editor. As far as I can remember, he was made one because of the OoT tricks page, to which I believe he has contributed significantly.

Also, I considered saying "Guybrush and AKA, you're both being <a negative descriptive word here in a plural>, shut up", but I couldn't figure out how to say that properly.

Wow you really are a dick there's nothing wrong with AKA's english that's just crazy talk. Edit: Seriously though Bisqwit I literally can't believe you've never noticed how horrible AKA's language is. I'm not even being unnecessarily mean here either, I think you said that to be nice to him.

It has not occurred to me. I guess the set of mistakes I tend to notice is a disconnected set from the mistakes AKA tends to make.

How about this: "Guybrush and AKA, you're both being off-topics, shut up!"

When you blame someone of lack of writing skills you should usually try to avoid making grammatical errors yourself or someone is going to point them to you...

Please tell me where I made a mistake and I'll try to learn from it.

Question: Is ranting about games (or game modes, either one) allowed in the Off-Topic section? Would you have to make a "[your username here] rant topic" or what? o_o *likes to rant*

As for you, I'd say that creating new threads less, especially off-topic ones, would for the better.

Hmm, are you saying it is legal, or to some degree? I'm terribly sorry, but all I get from the message is "creating less thread will make the off topic section alot cleaner". @_@

Lets just say that if you really want to rant, this is probably not the place. Do you want to hear any of us bitch about random things? Yeah, me neither.
