I bought a cheap microphone (I don't really understand why I haven't done that years ago), so I started playing with my guitar and my ocarina. What I did was to first play the guitar into one track, and then play the ocarina on another. Then I added some stereo reverb to alleviate the dryness of the sound and mixed. Here are some short samples: http://iki.fi/warp/ocarina.mp3 http://iki.fi/warp/ocarina2.mp3 http://iki.fi/warp/ocarina3.mp3 http://iki.fi/warp/ocarina4.mp3 This one I made by putting a midi in one track and playing the ocarina in the other: http://iki.fi/warp/susanna-ocarina.mp3 Sorry, no zelda tunes. Those are surprisingly difficult.

The two instruments blend together much better than I pictured an acoustic guitar and an ocarina blending. You should bust out some Requiem of Spirit on that ocarina :)

HAH! That one was hilarious! (Probably because I didn't expect it at all). Nice work overall. I agree with JXQ saying that the ocarina and guitar blend together much better than I would've thought. Now, giddy up cowboy and play some Zelda tunes :D

I tried the Song of Time. It's simple enough :) http://bisqwit.iki.fi/kala/bisq_oot.ogg The background track is composed in Scream Tracker 3, but the ocarina play was recorded using a microphone.

Wow, that was pretty awesome. I'm impressed :). I think was able to make out each of the songs within a few seconds of listening to the music. I'm 99% confident in my answers, but they'll be posted here. Highlight to see. 1) Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring introduction 2) The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. 3) Yankee Doodle Dandy 4) Celine Dion's "My Heart will Go on"

Hmm... no offense, but it sounds like the ocarina needs a little bit more practice. That being said, I am quite impressed with your sense of musical style. The sound of the tracks was very tasteful, with just the right amount of sophistication and class.

These are all very good. I wish I had skill like this.
