i am compleatly new at linux. I was wondering if someone would give me a step by step tutorial of downloading an initializing fce ultra.

Now I've downloaded and extracted the program now i am completely clueless as to what t the next step is. When ever I hit it ,it asks me what I want to open it with.

You need .nes ROM files. The tasvideos policy is not to give out ROMs, but a google search of NES ROMs with "I'm feeling lucky" should work fine.

I downloaded a rom and when I tell it to open the rom with the fce file it doesn't do anything what so ever. Is there something I might have forgot to do?

Run FCEU, go file -> open -> the ROM.

The problem with doing that is that when I click on fce it asks me what to open it with like it doesn't recognize the file.

Do you mean FCEU.exe, or the ROM? 800 posts!

He doesn't have a .exe he downloaded the linux version. I know that didn't answer your question IXRAYI but I believe it will help people that know the answer help you.

IXRAYI, fceu for linux doesn't have a gui interface you'll probably want to run it from the command line.
fceu romname.nes
should work.
