I'm on Vista (may be a reason why). Whenever I go to make an avi file of anything (regardless of size or length), and I get past the file name box, the program flat out crashes (giving me that "it needs to close" thing). Doesn't get to asking for a codec or anything. It's the patched 98.15 version (wasn't looking to do a TAS, just a review of a game to post on YouTube for now), and if it means anything, Nestopia does the exact same thing when I go to convert THAT format's file into an AVI. I found nothing on the site or on the boards about this. Any suggestions?

Clicking the FFDShow on that gives me this jumbled mess, though:

Basically a 404...and I think I have that codec installed already, and I think it's still giving me the problem.

Sounds like it MIGHT be a codec you have installed causing problems. You haven't mixed and matched different codec packs have you? try uninstalling any codec packs installed and try the latest FFDShow.
<adelikat> I am annoyed at my irc statements ending up in forums & sigs
