What is everyone's favorite style of White Mage, excluding the overly-complicated FFX-2 design? Hm...the circular one is cool becase it looks just like the one in ff1, but it doesn't look so cool in real life. The last one looks the best I think, but less FFish. So, I would have to pick the one with belled sleeves. I don't really like the first one though.

I liked the circular one too. Unfortunately I thought the last one was a condom first, like the one they have in the Naked gun movies ;P I blame tiredness..

Do you blame everything on tiredness? On topic: I forgot to say this, but cosplaying is evil. Don't fall into the darkside. The only cosplay I though was cool was the tetris one.

The last one (the open robe) is used in Tactics Advance: http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/ffta/art/whitemage2.jpg ..and also for some of the White Mages in 5. Actually, the rerelease (Wonderswan Color / PSX / GBA) FF1 uses a plain robe without belled sleeves, like in the design work for 9 (which I'd need to upload somewhere). http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/ff1/propaganda/ff1-2001.jpg ..but the circular robe was revived for Tactics: http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/fft/graphics/jobs/priest.jpg

I think the circular one is definitely the classic white mage uniform that everyone would recognize- it may just look crappy on that person. I do agree with bobwhoops that the last probably looks the best but the design could be from anything.

The "circular robe with no sleeves" is the classic White Mage look. If you want that White Mage look, that's the one. If you just want a cool looking robe, I'd go with the red cowel one.

TRIANGLES. I vote the red triangles are required for recognizability. You could even invent your own style as long as you include those.

Well, of course the final product will have the red pattern of triangles / fire / diamonds. I jut don't know what kind of robe is best. It seems most people like the circular design.. so I'll probably go with that. It's simplest, too.
