it's done. 19 minutes and 10.8 seconds. that's a lot faster.... i don't think my old movie had only 455 re-recordings though. andi was watching my goldaxe duel mode and it said 0 re-recordings. that's because i made it with old version of gens. and when playing it on gens version 8 it ignores all re-recordings count made on the old version... :P http://paginas.terra.com.br/lazer/parasempredaniel/mickeycoi-foda.zip "right click and save target as" EDIT: the game was playing on HARD mode, as anyone can state by going in the game and seeing the differences between normal and hard mode. the reason you don't see me pick hard mode is because i press C to change difficulty and press start so fast that mickey doesn't even start spinning that thing. :P BUT, if the movie was purely for speed i would have to get hit in order to have only 1 energy point at the end of the level for a smaller bonnus point count. wich was not the intention of this movie, this is as fast as possible without getting hit, wich in this case i find more entertaining.

Wow. Neato. Quite an assortment of neat tricks you've pulled mostly by simply varying your jump height as you move along. I like the jump over the waterfall, the way you deal with clowns, and the way you find something to do all while moving as quickly as possible.

heh, you from rio too :) but we have to speak english here :p well, for this game i thought it would look ugly as it wouldn't save that much time. if by getting hit mickey was thrown higher or something i could get hit to reach higher places, but getting hit just so you don't have to wait half second looks bad...

he said that about my pit fighter run, which i wrongly did at default difficulty. i agree most games should be played on hard mode but i think castle of illusion is an example of how that is not always true. see the biggest difference about hard mode is that the bosses get double energy. and that makes the run 25% longer. and repetitive. there are a bit fewer enemies too in some places, and the fact that they aren't there would make it faster too. but that difference is not very noticeable. the bosses being long and repetitive is a major problem, imo. if the run was made for fastest time possible, taking damage, it would be important to remember to always finish the levels with only 1 energy star left, so that you get smallest bonus count the at end of the level.

If you want to dump a AVI with Gens in Win32, I suggest you wait for version 9b where I fixed dumping with autoframeskip (PM me if you want the WIP to dump movies right now). Unless you have done a much better version yourself.

If you don't mind delayed audio by about half a second i can make you one now (there's a problem with the program i use at the moment). I'd edit gens myself to get the avi function working but my Visual Studio is registered to my old machine so I can't use it at the moment (and it takes aaaggggeees to install, well it did on my old computer). Hopefully I can get it working briefly for the wip compilation.

When I ran this on my pc, you lost a life at the end of the cogs level, just before the 2nd-to-last boss. I could clearly hear the noise, although the screen had faded already. Maybe it was from one of the bats. Anyway, mickey only had one power when completing that boss.

yea it did happen but i let it there for exntertainment purpose because the screen was blackned out for a long time already and only then there is a damage sound, it was funny

Yeah I've known about that one for a long time (it was pointed out to me). Haven't had time to TAS though. It shouldn't be too hard to improve this run.
