Particularly, its history (if any) and why you chose the avatar you did. Rocket Knight Adventures will (eventually) be my first submission to the site and one of the games I most enjoyed for the Sega Genesis. My avatar for a while was simply a transparent GIF of Sparkster flying. While studying the game in frame advance, I noticed that Sparkster's "boost forward" animation looks a lot like he's sneaking somewhere. Stealth action (more towards Splinter Cell than Metal Gear Solid) is another one of my favorite game generes. So I modified the sprite to give Sparkster a balaclava, to tuck his tail behind his legs, and change the color of the sword. The avatar was originally set in Rocket Knight Adventure's level one castle, but I later decided that, since the space station is one of the most visually impressive locations of the game, that I should use that instead. I had experimented with many variations of Sparkster sneaking past Axel Gear and later a space pig, but I couldn't find a design that worked, so I ditched the second character from the avatar. The finished design is what you see now. The space background isn't taken directly from the game, but uses the same colors and some elements from the game's space background. The in-game background was too sparse for the small space I was working with here. The sprites were captured using a sophisticated technique involving Gens and the use of the Prnt Scrn key under windows. ; ) There's also a watermark of sorts with my name "Deep Loner" on the walls above and below Sparkster's sword. It's almost impossible to see without enlarging the image, but it's there.

Mine shows a few graphics from a huge laser-based puzzle game I started on. I'm working on something else at the moment, but I can't change it. I think the "delete avatar" button is broken.

I drew this sprite-style Link one day for no reason. I like many of the games Link is in, especially Zelda 2. My previous avatar was also Link, from that game, in his falling/damaged pose. But I thought that was a bit impersonal. So I changed it. I think a few people preferred the old one. Before that, I used a drawing of Kary from FF1, as I was into testing that game and trying to get a run off the ground. I must have had another at some point. I don't beleive I've only had 3 avatars. If I had mood avatars, I'd probably just draw eyebrows or change his colours. I'm pretty happy with having a permanent blank stare.

Mine's an ugly fetus, probably what some guys here looked like when they were young, but I decline to give names.

My original one, the 8 point interlacing star with a dark blue outer half and a light blue inner half, is a design I drew back in high school. I usually have about one creative idea about every 5 years, and this was it from age 14-19. It started out as a blank outline, but when I was a freshman in college I wanted to get it inked, but the tattooist told me to spice it up a bit with some color. Blue has always been my favorite, so the resulting image has been between my shoulder blades for the past 4 years. The other, newer variations were just created about 2 weeks ago using artweaver... I like some of them more than others, but I think they're all pretty cool.

Is that the final boss from Quake, or am I getting old?

My avatar is an ugly emo fetus. Edit: It's Magus from Chrono Trigger, as I'm sure most already know. I actually made a set of avatars... mostly because I got tired of glaring at everybody like an ugly emo fetus. Now I'm leering like a gay pervert instead... hooray?

It's the end boss from half life. But not a bad guess, those quake bosses were hideous mofos as well.

Believe it or not, mine is Aladdin. Shocking as it may be, it's the truth. Why Aladding, some may ask, well it is plain and simple: Aladdin rules. Not as hardcore as batman (see sig) but he still does dominate my face.

I always change avatar every once a while. Whenever I change to a new avatar - it may be a hint that I'm working on a TAS for it. The one I'm currently have is from Lupin the 3rd (J), he is in shocked animation. I tried to create a TAS on that game for speedruns.net contest but snes9x was just being a desyncing demon so I just gave it up.

All my avatars are from one game. I am still waiting for someone to know which game that is, so I won't reveal it yet.

My avatar shows Squall from Final Fantasy 8. To be honest, I really don't know why, because although I do like FF8, it's really not my favourite game. It just happened that I decided to have Squall as my avatar, and I've had it almost all my time on this site.

It is probably due to his sweet ass scar... I really wish I had one just like it. :P
