...to be posted on YouTube. I'd like your opinions on what songs should be added. So far, my lineup is thus: - SMB1 theme/dungeon/underwater - Gradius Intro Flight and Level 1 - Castlevania Prologue and Vampire Killer - Zelda 1 Overworld and Dungeon - Zelda 2 Overworld and Dungeon - Tetris Hard Theme What else would you like to see/hear. PS - This is all being done by ear. I just listen to the MIDI file and reinterpret it on the piano. It's awesome.

Some ideas: The most badass Castlevaia track is Wicked Child. Even though it has been done to death, another interpretation of it would be nice. Kraid's theme from metroid is another classic song. The intro stage from Contra would be cool.

Bubble Man track from Mega Man 2. It really is lovely when played on the piano.

My semi-short list of NES music that could be good on piano (and which I haven't heard before): Contra's Waterfall stage/Stage 3. I dunno if anyone else hears it, but I think it could be really dramatic and powerful with the right application of dynamics. Code Name: Viper, Deja Vu, and TMNT 2+3. It's a lot of music, but it's all pretty good. The ending themes to Megaman 1, 2 and 4, with the opening from MM3. A medley with those, the ending from Code Name: Viper, and Ryu's ending from SSF2 (which is SNES, I realize) could be a neat collection of bittersweet Capcom stuff. What else... Batman! IMO, all the tracks are awesome. Whether they'd be awesome on piano, I'm not so sure. Super C has a few noteworthy tracks, according to a list of chiptunes I compiled at some point. Tracks 6 and 8 from an NSF. I don't remember why. The title theme from Destiny of an Emperor, and one of the battle themes, though I forget which. Track 3 from "Air Fortress", which is the song used in the sidescrolling parts. Recca is an obscure title, but the music is pretty good. Worth checking out.

I don't know about everyone else, but I've always liked the outdoor platform theme from Super Mario Brothers 2 (USA). I think the ending theme from Super Mario Brothers 3 would be nice on piano as well.

Thank you all for your suggestions. They've been really helpful.

I dismissed Kraid's Theme early on because you can't exactly add anything to the series of solitary notes. I do, however, plan to do the main theme from Metroid.

Seconded! You should also consider the the level 1-1 (also in many other levels) theme from SMB3. Other good themes you may want to consider include -- 8-eyes main theme. Legend of Zelda main theme. Mega Man 2 pre-stage theme (perhaps as an introduction to something).

Perhaps as an introduction to Bubble Man's theme? :)
