I have two specific games in mind: Pokémon FireRed and Super Mario Advance. Pokémon FireRed is a remake of Pokémon Red. Pokémon Red has been run 3 times and I am working on a 4th run. Pokémon FireRed has much better graphics and no major glitches (presumably). It also has a few places which can be accessed after beating the Elite Four. It's necessary to catch 60 pokémon before the Elite Four to access these extra places. Super Mario Advance is a remake of Super Mario 2 (US). Super Mario 2 had quite the frame war a while back. Again, this would be like a glitchless run, however, there are other considerations. One addition of this game is "giant" items. With these items, boss fights are significantly sped up by the fact that these items can be used for triple hits against the bosses. A warps-using run would be identical, however, the heaviest modifications are in the levels which are skipped by warping. I'm working on a run of this, and so far it's been very fast-paced. This run stays highly original because the boss fights are all so different, even compared to Super Mario 2's no-warps run. Against the bosses, unconventional weapons are used, such as a giant Ninji, a shell, and a fish. So the question is: Would runs of either of these games be accepted? I read the guidelines, and they say that if a run can be original, go for it. There are some very original things to be seen in runs of either game.

I would really like to see the Fire Red version of Pokémon! Mario why not, I think that there can be original games and new versions TAS. I suggest we go for it!

I'll quote Bisqwit:

Please don't submit another movie of the GBA remakes ..., unless you can actually bring in something new and unique. The new sound effects in GBA don't count. Good luck!
This was from some submission some time ago. I didn't realize though that Super Mario 2 remake was different because of "giant items".

Super Mario Advance has those Red coins that can be collected (Ace coins are they called?) which can be seen to bring something new. Yoshi eggs too, but you have to start from a save game for them IIRC.

I agree with Bisqwit. There are so many great games out there that are just waiting to get TAS'ed. Why dwell on the same ones? I personally don't think any of the Super Mario Advance titles are "different" enough to warrant new runs right now.

AlttP has fater scrolling text so you'd be able to get a faster run via that, also there is the Palace of the Four Swords that might be possible to glitch into with U+D.
