well, the way he said it made it sound like as long as he can view it correctly then all is fine and dandy.

I see the same thing as everyone else ("desync" on second hf superlide) but I didn't test to see if it was just a side effect of using the savestate which it possibly might be.

As for the way up the mountain, that is easy as hell... just walk up the seam (it is a very easy one). Then just backflip (or sidehop since it's faster, if you can still land on the seam w/out falling off, though a backflip would make backrunning on the seam a possibility. Get all the way down to the end, and then do the rest... Uploading a vid of the 1st part... Oh, so you know, mupen is highly homosexual and you are gonna have a harder time than usual getting the bomb boosted hover. MAKE SURE you have a great angle and you don't have to TURN sharply (aka get everything out of your momentum) because Mupen is retarded and if you are out over the void part you can freeze it w/ a bombchu shield drop just like in forest... It still is possible I'm sure, its just you can't aim for the farthest left corner, but slightly to the right instead... it is a fraction higher so it may be alot harder unless you get great distance already. Huh.. that is a load of bs... in mupen... you can hover over void and shield drop a bombchu... just not while backflipping... lol.

I've watched the movie from the begining and unfortunatley the game desynced at the First Stalfos battle in the FT, although watching it from the provided savestate it desynced where everybody else said.

What's the status? Is there anyone that can play back the whole movie with no desyncs?

Not to stalk him or anything, but according to his Myspace profile, he seems to have had a kid recently. That would explain why he's been so busy.

that would do it... friend of mine just had one, it's like a 38-hour-a-day job

That would do it. Just as a hypothetical: if Guano were to pull out on paternity leave, would anyone continue the run while he's gone? If so, who?

If AKA had the time I'm sure he could do just as good, maybe even better of a job.

I was actually planning on making a full game TAS of my own over the summer. I have a bit of experience with TASing this game, I've made runs of the Deku Tree, the Water Temple, and just little things, but I think I could do it. However, I think that if anyone is going to take over it from Guano, it should be AKA. :P

If someone else were to TAS this game, it would help if s/he was very familiar with the game, almost to the point of obsession, and if s/he already tries to make influential decisions as if s/he were the author, that would put him/her halfway there. It could also be beneficial if s/he looked down on those who knew less than s/he did, and made overzealous efforts to keep the forum topic exactly where s/he thinks it should be. Alas, I can't think of anyone who fits this description.

personal attacks aside, I think anyone who wants to continue guano's run should ask him for permission first. If anyone may decide about the issue it's guano himself.

Thanks to Swordless link we can now steal the rod as a child. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiOplT8L4Bg How does this affect possible route changes? Well basically what you can do now is to enter the Shadow and Forest Temple as a Child and get the bow+hoverboots, then steal the rod and effectivley win the game as soon as you become an Adult, it saves time because you don't have to Complete the Forest Temple and sit through the very long cutscene as well as that you can avoid the prelude speeach. If Guano is still doing the run it would be best to coninue as disscussed before and then perhaps this can be worked into an improvement run.

How would a rod allow you to skip those cutscenes?

Because I think it means you could basically get the stuff from those temples (just the items, no need to actually beat it and hence watch the cutscene (which freezes the game as Young Link anyways)), and after getting the necessary items, steal the rod as Young Link, do Bottle Adventure, become and adult, and head straight to Ganon's Castle.

Oh, wow...what you said is basically it, then. We'll do Forest/Shadow as a child, steal the rod, manipulate the inventory items, become an adult, and get Light Arrows on B. And then after that, just go to Ganon's Castle and complete the game. This would get us sub-2 for sure...if it works. EDIT: Would it be possible to skip Hover Boots as well, by using lots of explosive hovers for Ganon's Castle early?
