Let's see, fast music... The theme for the first couple of levels in Wily's Fortress in MM2 Wind Man's theme (MM6) Absolute Zero - MMX2 (not sure about this one, it's cool and all, but it's so short) Rotating Rooms - Super Castlevania IV Clocktower - Castlevania III Julius' Theme - Castlevania AoS Blah, I can't really think of too many. Last, mostly since I wasn't sure about adding it, is 'From seeing the rough wave', De Rol Le's theme from Phantasy Star Online. I'm not sure if it's really fast-paced enough or not.

Let me explain something about completion. My parents are divorced. At my dad's house, he has a crappy little Windows laptop that I can make TASes on. At my mom's, she has a huge, brand-new Mac which I can make movies on. So I figure if I make a movie, it should be a movie for TASvideos.org.

DjDain's NeverDie 8 minutes, with time for a title screen. There's a lot of build up, and the intensity varies quite a bit, so one could show off a lot of different types of stuff.

Look up Masters of the universe http://youtube.com/watch?v=dbRovnBzfPc First song in this vid. The album its from is called "juno reactor" an FFVII refrence so its somewhat related I guess. somewhat also, you should improve on that first video by naming the game before it plays so that people better know whats going on. Also, make credits less then 40% of the video =P

Actually, "Masters of the Universe" is a song by Juno Reactor from the album "Shango" (2000).

LOL, Dragostea Din Tei better known as Numa Numa. Imagine that: Miya Hee, Miya Huu, Miya Ho, Miya HAHA. Miya Hee, Miya Huu, Miya Ho, Miya HAHA. all set to video games. S.S.H's Merciless Goddess seems pretty good. I think I'll wind up using an SSH song, but I remain openminded. EDIT: When I posted that, I hadn't heard Travel Demon! I'm thinking Travel Demon=VERY YES! It doesn't leave much room for an intro, but that's OK.

S.S.H - Fighting The Spirit from Tales of Phantasia. Their best song IMO.

I have a good idea. (I hope! : ) Maybe the video could start off with the "Unfinished Allegro" used in the first video (or a remix, or another classical-esque track, just as long as it sounds similar) but with the captions clearly indicating that the viewer is going to see something new and different, that the science has evolved, that TASing is bigger and better and more badass than ever... ...followed by a remix of "Carry On". This would make the video psychologically connected to the previous (which is what we want for people who have seen the previous video) while subconciously enforcing the fact that this one is different. To enforce the fact that it's better, we should show only the best clips from the coolest games. The clips should be short and action packed: the purpose is to generate excitement about what they can find on the site. Ever notice how television commercials for computer and video games only show small snippets of gameplay at a time? That's because the small snippets whet the audience's appitite much more effectively than longer segments. The segments used in the previous God Playing video make an excellent demonstration but are less effective as an actual promotion. The purpose of starting out with "Unfinished Allegro" and a "Carry On" remix is to connect this video to the previous video in the minds of viewers, thus creating a cohesive campaign of promotion for the site. Once the connection is established, it's not necessary to keep using "Carry On" for the entire video; certainly a fast-moving metal song (be careful that it's not too heavy -- this will immediately turn some viewers away) would fit wonderfully. If there's no "Carry On" remix readily available, I'm certain that someone on the internet can make something suitable. moozooh: You're a student of advertising, what do you think?

Actually, I didn't consider the previous video a good promotional material (beside it just being rather unpopular, though it is a direct evidence of the poor promotional value), so I wouldn't want to spawn connections to it. The supposed difference between a new video and the old one would make the "campaign" way too incoherent among its parts. However, if production quality of the old video was better, and the video itself more popular, everything you said would be very much applicable.

I never realized that the old video was "rather unpopular". Do you mean this in the sense that "not a lot of people watched it" or, "not a lot of people who watched it liked it"? Either way, I think your answer makes a good point. We certainly wouldn't want to advertise the site with poorly produced material. Understanding the reasons the first video was unpopular would be helpful. However, if the first one was unpopular because people think that tool-assisted videos are "cheats" and "hacked edits"... well, that's a whole other discussion.

I can't say anything on the topic of whether did anyone like it, but if you try to find all the instances of this video on the web, you'll see at least the number of views and/or comments. Start with YouTube and Google Video.

Poor production quality, poor play quality (most of that video was made from pre-frame advance era runs), poor coverage… I've stated some of these points in the thread devoted to that video, too.

I suppose the fact that it was made during the more TAS-hostile time didn't help, either. Videos like Morimoto's SMB3 and Spezzafer's SM64 did generate quite an amount of hatred from the uneducated masses and legit speedrunners (partly because of those uneducated masses as well) so that such a video wouldn't even look appealing with all the pathetic captions in the beginning.

hah those SSH songs are reeeeealy great... by the way, that "god playing games" video is so boring... it looks more like a commercial of a motel. We need a "DEVIL PLAYING GAMES".

I also support this choice. It's energetic, has appropriate lyrics, and at 5:39 is right about the target length, I would think.

Maybe... I haven't started yet, so it's a possibility. I'm still having trouble getting iMovie to play AVI files downloaded from this site. Anyone know how to fix that?

Argh, I just can't resist posting in threads like this. o_o* Some songs that would be cool imo are.. Misha (Skit) by M.O.V.E for the credits, it sounds like a NES video game soundtrack and really fits the whole video game theme. Raimei -Out of Kontrol- by M.O.V.E would also be cool imo for the main movie. Electronic and fast with many fitting points for switching games, but the Japanese lyrics might be annoying. Onmyoji by Onmyouza would be very usable too, but I guess you would have to cut out the first minute (would still be over 5 minutes long). It's a melodic Japanese metal track and a duet like Raimei btw. Their live version of Ryuu no Kumo wo Eru Gotoshi would work too, I guess. Or just use a song by Rhapsody. I think their songs are a bit overused these days, but they would still fit. Actually the lyrics won't fit, but the music would, lol. I'd recommend Rain of a Thousand Flames, Emerald Sword or Wisdom of the Kings. If you don't like lyrics, you could choose Athens by Janne da Arc, which is basically just guitars, bass, drums and keyboard. Or Handroid by Daita. The song is something like a 3 minutes long guitar solo. Very speedy. I can't think of any other fitting songs atm. Edit: Player One wins. >_>

Player One is an awesome song, but I think it's too short. I remember when I first watched the God Playing video I was disappointed that it was over so quickly.

Could it, by any chance, be due to the ending credits taking almost half the length of the entire video? %)

This video won't be made unless there's a way to play the AVIs from this site on iMovie. Someone needs to suggest either a codec or a new video editing program entirely.

*bump* No codec or editor suggestion unfortunately, but a music choice: If "Player One" is not applicable, then maybe "Pompeii" from Plasma Pong.
