Here's me beating Argentina and W. Germany in Nintendo World Cup (about 30 minutes total). You'll notice that I missed quite a few shots or got tackled near the bottom right corner of the screen. I was trying to get the opposing GK out of the box so that I could tackle him. It's possible to knock out the GK that way, but it would probably take an entire half with re-records for the positioning to work out correctly against those later teams. http://www.savefile.com/files/459906

My pathetic addition to this topic. It's Super Mario Bros. 2, in case you can't tell. Note how it doesn't even finish the game, I died on 6-1 too many times.

Here's Boulder dash quest 1, unassisted. Contains 3 deaths. http://www.rphaven.org/cad/TAS/boulderdash_unassisted.fcm I'll have to watch those Mega Man and SMB2 runs.

Alright, here 2 movies from my collection (both are 2-player movies of me against my cousin): Super Mario Kart movie in GP mode on 100cc, played through all 4 Cups And here the classical Nintendo World Cup: 2 very high quality VS matches on special surfaces Match 1: Very nice match on Sand Match 2: Sliding time! Extremely close and one of the best matches we have ever played on ice! Both matches show many great tactical tricks in defense and attack during the game. I'm always the 2nd player. Enjoy!

I see nobody has attempted Super Mario Brothers 3 yet. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/3687/DeepLonerSucksAtSMB3.fcm I tried doing some of the fancy cannonball stunts as racoon Mario, but later decided that I just need to stay alive. But I couldn't do that either...

You know, this thread is going to give a lot of ammo to the "You guys use emulators because you suck!" argument... Or, at the very least, the "Deep Loner uses emulators because he sucks!" argument... : p

I, for one, am much better with the console's control pad. I just wish I could find a joypad for the PC which emulated diagonals correctly.

I just finished watching the first one, and it was great. You're really good at getting those super kicks in with W. Germany. I find it hard to do that, so I don't really like playing with them. BTW, why did your cousin do those two own goals?

Unlike RCR, I can actually play NARC fairly well. Made it all the way to the end without making a complete ass of myself... until the initials, anyway. Movie version says [o1], but I don't know if that means [!] will desync.

I just use a PS2 controller. Speaking of which, this is me playing Zelda 3.

Here's me playing Fantasy Zone. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/3692/FantZone.fcm This was my 20th try today (most ended in less than a minute) and the only one to get past the 3rd stage. This one goes all the way to the last boss and then dies, a lot, repeatedly. There's only one more form of the final boss after the furthest one I got to, so this is (almost) the entire game. Also it's only 12 minutes.
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster. I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

My third attempt! Here's Mega Man 2 in 33 minutes. It completes the game. https://files.tasvideos.org/bisqwit/rm2nondum.fcm

Here's Sonic 1 in 33.5 mins I generally tried to play through the game progressively and show off a couple of pointless glitches to prevent anyone from getting too bored, although there was about 2-3 deaths near the end of some of the more difficult levels which quite badly slowed the run down.

Suck Factor: Bad Jokes Go Very Well With Horrible Playing Skills (screenshot archive 2, now with biscuits) I would consider doing so, but netplay and ZSNES1.42 isn't conductive to movies :) The only changes are: * You can change between Mario and Luigi at will * Players alternate turns (but not score/lives/coins/etc) on death, kind of like SMB1 * Lives are never decremented (:P) * There's a running "death counter" at the top left, that overflows and starts bugging out around 130-something (not 128, unexpectedly) * Player 1 starts with Mario, player 2 starts with Luigi, but this can be changed * There's no 1P option In short, it's pretty plain :P (also biscuits)

Thanks, we both have alot of experience in this game as we played it extremely often in the early 90's. Skills got a bit rusty, but the knowledge is still the same. I picked W. Germany because they have the best tackle power of all teams (you surely noticed that the Italian players got knocked down pretty soon, which weakened their defense and helped me alot to make the last goals during the match). For my playing style, the weak super shots of W. Germany don't make it up for that. The 2 self-goals my cousin did were because he tried to cheat so that they will count as goals against me. There is a chance to do so even by shooting in his own gate, but it is very hard and risky, thats why he failed there. And I would also be glad to play some matches against other players online, but I think there aren't any NES emulators available currently that would support that (like ZSNES on zbattle). Or am I wrong?

Watch me fail miserably at Mega Man 5 After 50 minutes of playing, I finally go game over at the third protoman level boss, despite the fact that I got a ridiculous amount of extra lives from enemies. I didn't use E or M boxes on purpose. The beginning isn't THAT bad... but I lose my attention later on. Most annoying probably is me dieing several times at the waveman stage. Note: it probably needs fceu 0.98.16 to playback

Super Mario Brothers 3 again: the movie is 26 minutes long but still doesn't complete the game. Waah! I WANT MY TOOLS! I've always loved video games, but I've never been much of a "gamer". Can you tell? : ) When I'm finished with Rocket Knight Adventures, I'm going to see if I can improve on Genisto's published SMB3 run. I'm serious.

From the little research I've done into the subject (mostly using the Cheats search), I think all the teams have the same tackling power. Slides do 3 points of damage and tackles usually do 9. Most of the teams have different HP, though, with W. Germany having the most.

That's really interesting. I've never seen that happen. Does it only happen in versus matches, or have you had it happen during the tournament? I watched the second match, and it was hilarious with everyone sliding around when tackling or tackled. Too bad you can't choose the field type before normal matches without going through all the trouble of playing a versus match.

Wow, I suck at playing on an emulator. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/3704/puresuckage.smv I obviously forgot almost everything about this game. EDIT: it's Yoshi's Island, btw.

Right, thats what it is then.

I'm not sure if it only happened in VS mode or also in normal. But I remember that it worked somehow, long long time ago though. It's reasons need to be analyzed and tested to know more, I didn't care that much about it though, as it's not my style to win a game like that anyway. :-)

And now, watch as I completely suck in Super Mario Bros. 3! I need to get used to playing on the keyboard again. P.S.: One of those deaths was completely intentional. Try to figure out which one. ;p Also, I have nothing else to do for the weekend, so I may be at this all day. Just a fair warning, unless you like cracking up to fairly idiotic mistakes made by someone that is no longer used to playing on keyboard.

I was just trying Mario 64, and it's extremely hard with the keyboard. How do you people make TASes of 3-D games?
