The video could have an optional softsub commentary with it in .mp4 container (not avi), seems like it would help with interest in some of the longer movies.

You can mux the audio commentary track (in .mp3 format) with the .avi in virtualdubmod.

I believe captions are in order. Jabu one: "Must.. Reach... Boomerang...Ungh..." Spirit Temple: "PEEKABOO!" I like how you are using the high def textures L4yer :) On a side note, I'm loving the run so far and I can't wait to see what improvements you manage inside the Forest Temple!

djs: would hi rez textures make much of a difference in my videos? I think people have already expressed they prefer lower bitrates. for faster downloads. If you want to watch this in high res, get the texture pack yourself and watch guano's m64's in your own mupen.

I always preferred your videos as a higher quality product than the eventual published avi.

well... would using hi-res textures ingame, affect video size post-encoding? Once it's been output by the emulator, the only things that determine size are resolution and compression.

ITS POSSIBLE! I DID IT... I'm gonna do it again and record it. I had the wrong angle, but you don't need hoverboots because you start out slow then the vid freezes the momentum for a sec (or at least slows it) so you can go all the way down w/out boots.

That's right, my avatar is the floating Nihilanth. I had considered Gonarch and Gargantua, but in the end nihilanth won out because he looks like an ugly fetus. Funny that you should mention the green tentacle monster, I'll still trying to beat him.

All right...this is it: Black - guaranteed to work White - if boss key w/out untwisting corridor is possible 0. Using the longshot, I was able to aim at a certain point so that Link slides off the tree branch and directly into the temple, saving 2-3 seconds. I am not sure if this is possible with the regular hookshot, but it's worth looking into. Main differences: 1. Obviously, Acryte's "Ultimate FT Sequence Break" is quite a challenge in itself. Good luck! 2. Since you said it yourself, collect the small key from the Floormaster in callout 10 rather than the chest in the entrance chamber, if doing so is indeed faster. 3. At callout 5, you'll need to use explosive hovers, since you don't have the necessary strength upgrades to push the blocks. 4. If the boss key can be obtained early via explosive hovers, follow the white route from callout 9 onwards. This will involve going up to the bow, deathwarping, and starting back from the entrance. 5. If the boss key cannot be obtained early, then follow the black route all the way through and return to the main chamber through the courtyard. The old run took six minutes, and obviously you can expect to add on a few more this time around.
