I´ve been trying to do some stuff in Snes9x... but when using frame advance, if I for example want to press down jump+shoot+forward+frame advance, my computer sends out a beeping noise and ignores some button presses... I have a feeling that there is some obvious answer to this question... but I can´t figure it out.
Can someone plz help me?
I don't think the Snes9x FAQ will help... But probably the keyboard manual... Anyway, change your keyboard or reconfigure your buttons.
Btw, I already asked that question and no one answered me, hope this time someone will: Is there some keyboards without those limitations? If yes, name the model. I want one. It's really hard to TAS games because of that.
I remember someone saying that really old keyboards have none or much less limits on what keys you can press. Dunno if that's the case though. Not sure if the so-called "gaming keyboards" have addressed the issue either.
With USB, I still find strange that such things still may happen. But I don't own one.
My keyboard is XT/AT (Before PS/2) and having troubles. I Own one US international shit XT/AT keyboard and a PS/2 keyboard. The keyboard that I use is more comfortable but I should probably try with the PS/2 keyboard. Also, I remember having not much troubles with the US keyboard.
It's just that I want to upgrade to USB keyboard and want to know what are the best ones.
Edit: I am wondering if there exist some database with keyboard and those limitations.
Ex. Here:
Key Tronic Model # E03602QCBF Problems with left and « buttons and some more.
I set my keys up in a way that allows for more buttons to be pressed down at once, it's most likely not the best combination but it really works well.
UP = p X = z
DOWN = ; Y = x
LEFT = l A = c
RIGHT = ' B = v
START = n R = h
SELECT = b L = g
You may consider giving it a try although it may seem a little akward (because no turbo keys are present but this is the basic outline) at first but you'll get used to it, I know I did.
Also, you may consider configuring Frame Advance to Space Bar since it most likely would help as well.
