Upthorn, mrz's run is merely a test run I think.
He also has an accepted (yet to be published) SDW run, so it's a safe bet that mrz definitely knows about these techniques.
The last I heard, mrz and skamastaG were going to team up on this tas, as it's a hefty job.

I'm going to assume that's sarcasm and defend my question with the following:
1) The tricks pages are often relatively unknown.
2) I expected to see constant hopping ala the currently published low exit SMW run, but from what I could tell, the hop glitch wasn't used at all in either your or mrz's movies.

That was no sarcasm. I had never seen this page, and, i am truly going to start TASing Mario, thx to it. =D
I am not sure, about the hopping glitch though, the 6/5? I thought that just keeping your max speed was good enough?...
Anyways, i will talk about this in the SMW topic... if there is one... =P
BTW the fact that my SRW run "sucked" is because i had not seen this trick page, and it was the first time i ever tried TASing Mario.
Seeing that a pro like mrz took some of my ideas for is SRW run, i assume that i am not so bad at it.
Of couse, i need to practice a lot =P
jaysmad, good luck with your SMW TASing. I'll try to help out. Let me tell you this though, it's not an easy game to TAS, and this is probably especially true for this particular hack, since its level design is very.. non straightfoward. Runs that aren't technically perfect (as far as current knowledge goes, most runs end up being obsoleted of course) often get a very mixed welcoming. I'm not saying your run will definitely be visibly improvable of course, but it's a possibility you definitely need to be aware of.
If you're serious about doing this hack though, step one should be to get it approved by Bisqwit as an acceptable hack.
Oh and another point. Learning the SMW engine/becoming more comfortable with TASing it/etc might be easier or quicker in Super Mario World where the levels are easier and you have other runs to watch and compare to and stuff. Just a thought.

TASing SMW at this time will be very difficult, since all the speedrun's of this game is very near to perfect. Also try asking Bisqwit if this is an acceptable hack.
Thx Fabian. I noticed that it is quite hard to handle. BTW at the moment i am not doing Second reality. I actually turned my head to Legend of Luigi...=P Yes, i know, it's another hack, but i like hacks. The game play is the same as SMW but you play as luigi. I am now at the second world in my TAS. I am planning to do a full run of the game. If you want to help out, that would be awesome. It's always good to have two or more opinions. The only opinion i have for now, is mine and my gf... That's not much, beleive me=P
Cool, as long as you're just doing it for fun. If you intend to submit the movie though, you should definitely make sure you're doing a run of an approved hack to avoid huge disappointments later. And I'm guessing that hack wouldn't be approved.
That secretexits.zip is for a completely different game, just ignore it.
But in case you need help with the exits, just ask. I have found all but one (Ruined Ruins).

Well it probably will not be accepted, especially with where i am at in the game. I think people will dislike the fact that running is rare in this one.
PS: I found one that is even better than Legend of Luigi.. It is called Luigi's adventure!!! Done by Anikiti=D I just love playing as Luigi. Probably because of the green =P But seriously this one could be the one. It is amazing. I am testing it right now.
I can't seem to be able to download Luigi's adventure 3, The adventure of Phantasm World. I dont know why, but each time i play it, the screen gets all pixelated. Can someone please help me with this? I tried patching SMW, not working, SDM, not working, i seriously dont know what to do...
