Some might be confused by adelikat submitting a Phil & Genisto run.
This run is their original famtasia movie converted to an .fcm with a hex-edited intro screen. It is 32 frames faster than the original by pressing select at frame 6, resulting in a shorter gray screen.
Originally I set out to improve this run but was unable to improve any of the levels. I am the third person to match but not improve their time so I think this run is frame perfect. But I was able to use a "trick" to cause less gray screen and save 32 frames. I didn't feel this was worth submitting so I hexed phil & g's run instead.
So the run is .5 sec shorter, and will use FCEU for the AVI, and of course one less famtasia run ;p

Not that it really matters, but I saved 1 frame on the level where you jump on balls. Each jumps wastes 1 frame, and by making one less jump, I finished 1 frame faster. Yay for big improvement! :) Besides that improvement, all other levels are exactly as fast, so yes, this run is most likely very much optimized.
NES Circus Charlie (JPN) in 03:23.68 by Phil Côté and Jean-François Durocher (aka. Genisto)
— Obsoletes movie #90 (03:25.85)
This is confusing. How the hell do these things happen? >_>
From what I see, this game has no ending. It just loops each five stages, so this (and obviously the previous) run stops right after the first loop is complete.

You have to be kidding me. I tried to improve this run, had I known about the improvement I would have published this hex edit.
I must admit I am skeptical, do have an .fcm?

Yes, I do. This movie does beat the current run by merely 1 frame. That frame was saved on level 3, as stated above. I also get 980 more points than Phil. I'm hesitant to submitting this, as it's only 1 frame faster... What do you think? On the other hand, this is a very competitive game... But submitting this run would really feel like "stealing" the work entirely, because it's only 1 frame faster. I'm quite torn on this...
EDIT: The rerecord count is screwed up. I edited the movie a few times using TAS movie editor, and the rerecord count got lost somewhere on the way. The real rerecord count should be around 5000 or so. Just so you know.

had I found 1 frame of improvement, I would have submitted my run rather than hexing this one.
If it makes you feel any better Phil was quite confident no improvement could be made ;p
Also, it isn't stealing if the movie is short and near perfect already. If you are damn sure it is the last frame of improvement (I am) then it is ok.
There is precedent, such as Phil donkey kong submission.

I'm also sure that this movie can't be improved further. So I'll go ahead and submit this movie then. Expect a new submission in the workbench soon! :)
