I have been watching lots of Speed runs lately and I have seen some things that confuse me alot. In Castlvania the player walks into the bosses, and it seems to do huge damage to them, whats the deal with that? In Kid Icarus, the guy runs through everything and still manages to get powered up. I thought you only get powered up if you kill like a ton of enemies?

The first question I don't know, but it has already been answered...somewhere in these forums. And which kid icarus run are you talking about? Sleepz's? Anyway, you get powered up by going into the rooms with arrows.

"Anyway, you get powered up by going into the rooms with arrows." No I mean... Those rooms don't always power you up. If you haven't hit some quata, they are empty rooms. I always thought you need to just kill TONS of enemies to do it, but he gets every one of them hardly killing any enemies.

Collecting hearts also does it.

Here's the other topic. Phil didn't really explain it though. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=183

Ghosts 'n Goblins has a similar glitch. Basically just hit the boss at the exact same time that you are hit. Greatly increases damage. -Josh
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice

pretty off-topic, but what city do you live in, 12Motion? I'm in Chanhassen, which a little south of the Twin Cities.

I live in Eagan, which is a little east? of the cities. But as of Sept. 4 I will actually be living in the cities to go to the UofM.

Oh, is the damage for the player being re-used as the damage for the boss?

Yep, that's my best guess. Konami Wai Wai World might have something like this as well, actually...I noticed a slight increase in the damage of Moai's headbutt when he was damaged and overlapping an enemy. Not particularly useful, as you shouldn't need Moai for anything other than soaking up damage in the last level, but interesting nonetheless. -Josh

In the Legend of Zelda run, he's fighting the three-headed dragon (I think, level 4 right?) and he only has one heart, and he gets hit by something. He flashes and recoils, but he doesn't seem to take any damage. Then when the dragon dies, it drops a fairy, refilling Link's health so he doesn't have to wait for the Triforce to fill it up. So what happened? Is there a part of the dragon where if you hit him you don't take a full point of damage? Similar to how if you have the blue ring and get hit by something that normally does half a heart of damage it'll do a fourth of a heart but won't show anything.

This has been mentioned before and I think it's just a glitch where sometimes Gleeok won't hurt you. Check the original LoZ thread, it was probably mentioned somewhere in there.

Yeah, glitch. Direct contact with Gleeok's heads seems to do a random amount of damage bewteen none and 1 heart... o_O
