I was thinking about posting this in the NES section but I wasn't sure if that like an official talk about speed runs stuff. Move it if you want to, I just have a simple question. How do you do the whirlewind kick and how do you do the POWER knee? I can kinda do the whirlewind kick sometimes, when I don't do a regular jump kick, but I am not consistent because I really don't know how. The Knee is a complete mystery to me, it seems like I just mash all the buttons when I am kneeling (after a jump) and he busts it out. But I also want to know exactly how to do it.

When you are at the peak of your jump, hit A or B for the cyclone kick. When you are on your knee after landing or while getting up from a fall, wait a split second and hit A+B. It can be hard to get the timing down for this, but when you do, it's kinda easy.

Back in the day we used the NES Max controller to play this game. The power knee is easy so long as you use "turbo." With an emulator, you could try mapping a key to do both A+B at the same time?

Also, if you just press B instead of A+B, you'll get an uppercut instead of the knee. It's a little less powerful, but can come in handy when the knee will send you into a pit or something. -Josh
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice

Ha, actually a pretty deep combat system for a 2 button game.

Double Dragon 3 actually has a couple of "team moves". One where you jumpkick your partner and he catches you and throws you back at the enemy. Another where you both jump next to each other and do the cyclone kick for a super cyclone kick. Double range and damage I believe.

Super Double Dragon on SNES has a couple moves also. One of the best game I have ever played.

double dragon 2 has a pretty cheap and 100% effective tecnique vs any enemy: do a whirlwind kick, and if he ducks, when u land on the ground, u do an uppercut, it hits the enemy 100% of the time.

It also has a pretty cheap boss, Mr. Invisible Shadow Master. I've only beaten him once on the actual NES, and that was with the 9 lives "cheat".

I have beaten double dragon II plenty of times all the way through on NES with a friend of mine. The whole time only accidentally doing the knee, haha.

Have you checked my timeattack? I can do this trick without falling into pit.

you can also dodge thrown knifes by kicking at the right moment (works like a "duck" move)

Hey wierd, is that contra (SNES) on hard mode or what? Because I don't remeber that thing coming up to chase you after you kill the giant brain.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.. but can't you also do the knee/uppercut when getting up after being knocked down? Similar to wakeup reversal dragon punch in street fighter? :)

Disregard that statement, I recently played it again and crushed the final boss without the 9 lives "cheat."
