So exactly what doesn't work? Programmer? Got any .m64 that i can watch so i see the problem myself? And it would be a shame if you'd give up Perfect Dark becouse it would be so awesome TAS'ed. If everything else fails i'd even suggest the no-glitch strat. Oh and could someone please tell me how to save a save state so that i don't have to watch through the my entire .m64 every time i continue recording? It's getting annoying.

Ctrl+F5 Then when you load the movie file make sure you have "open read only" checked, then load the save state with Ctrl+F7

I'd like to see a .m64 myself. Read only is pretty much essential for making and not ruining the .m64, I did that with FODA's 120 star and had to redownload and watch the entire thing all over again.

Yeah, if "Read Only" is selected it will move to savestate in the movie and play from there rather than start recording from the savestate. So basically everytime you are going to stop, just make a savestate to continue at later. It's also smart idea to make backups of your m64 so if you accidently load with read only off you don't lose much work.

That was the problem, he either saw me somehow or his timing toward the elevator changed so he couldn't make it in time. I really have no idea when to start the level at the precise spot. And that's some pretty good patience if you haven't been loading savestates all this time.

Ok so my incredibly bad graphic card decided to once again hate everything that's 3D when i tried to emulate Majoras Mask and now i can't play any game without having to restart computer after 5 seconds. Also i found that it's pretty much impossible to make a TAS of Cold Reception cause you can't see where your shots hit, the aimer is very non accurate etc etc. i.e i will not be working on this anymore. Unless someone else does Cold Reception and magicly the graphic card start working normally.

check to make sure your ROM properties are still the same as the ROM settings of TWINE when you first started TASing.

The latest .m64 is pretty much the one i posted above, i've only added some crappy testing on Cold Reception. Btw, do you have the .m64 of the Perfect Dark run that didn't work?

Basicly you'll need to keep pressing C-up as fast as possible to gain speed(Do this during the entire run). I think best way to do this is to hold A one frame then release it one etc but i'm not entirely sure. Also make sure to take sharp turns by holding C-right in right turns and C-left in left turns etc. And there are like 2 places where you can choose between 2 diffrent ways. The first comes pretty early and you gotta take a left turn there, then on the next one you have to take a right turn leading down into a cave.

Won't that switch weapons? I was playing it and A was switching them. Here is the only m64 i have of what i did before. It doesn't go all the way to where he sees me, it justs up until the speech skip. After that i was just screwing around. If you stop playback after the skip and head up the right way it's likely he won't make it in time or he'll see you. http://www.sendspace.com/file/85myql Oh god this is going to be hard :(

if you left click on top C then it'll put it on autofire for you.

I played it through and it worked, but it was confusing. it sped through the menu, and then you clipped into the wall, fell outside the building and entered back inside, which seems like the shortcut you intended, then you hit start to go to the menu a few times, make some perfect head shots against opponents, but thoughout the whole thing you keep pressing start, is that intended?

Oh pressing A? I obviously meant C-up sorry! And autofire is possible? Awesome. About the Perfect Dark pressing start thing i havent watched the run myself yet but i'm guessing it's part of the speech skip??

Yeah it is, and are you sure i have to keep pressing c^ instead of holding it down? Takes soooo long going frame by frame alternating, wish the macro worked.

Nitsuja's TAS input plugin has turbo function for every N64 button. So that shouldn't be a problem. I just watched the SDA Perfect Dark Runs, and while some were annoying because they had songs playing over them and were black and white, the others were really fast and awesome. and Aliens were in it :P (no, I had never beaten the game before, having never gotten past Chicago damn that floating laser.)

There's a turbo function? Can't believe i totally missed that :p And yeah, you can't hold the C-up. This is one of the reasons that the console world records were all done with turbo controller. So L4yer, you got aim or msn?

It doesn't work for me, there is no option for turbo, just assigning multiple keys to one button. My turbo controller is very unreliable, the inputs could be as much as 5 frames apart depending on when i press frame advance.. so any suggestions? Yeah, i was in the elite chatroom for a bit before the perfect dark run tanked.

Are you using Nitsuja's TAS input plugin like I suggested? From what I saw of the eliteroom Perfect Dark Videos, the game is too good to let one little programmer problem get in the way. Almost every website that has a review of it rated it as the highest, higher then Goldeneye sometimes, and when watching movies I had to rewind and watch again because many times so many things happened so fast I missed it.

Wyster, is there a way you could make avi's of the wips? I'm pretty sure I have the exact same rom and plugins, but it keeps desynching. I've only beaten the game on Agent, so I don't know how much help I could provide.

I already made them but they are very large files, like 50+ mb. Therefor i also have smaller versions though those are in .wmw format.
